Creating maps

I was trying to find a place to print out maps we play on (so I could maybe not be so lost), and it appears to me that people can create their own maps. Is this correct and does anyone here do it or know anything about it?

I was gonna ask the exact same question.. What tools do you need to create maps?

Bob, If you wanna get to know a map, Go to an empty server and roam around. :thumbsup:

Just start cs:s and go to CREATE SERVER and pick which map you want and just roam around that way noone will bother you. IF you get bored add a couple of bots for target practice. Dont play them on the hardest level they will pwn you and you will feel sad. I d :Did that once. :D

the sdk tools that are a part of steam allow you to map maps don't they?


and btw creating a server on your machine and running around on a map to learn it is a great way to great way to get yourself oriented on a map

p.s. bob you should probably not add any bots until you get real familiar with a map because the bots are definitely some hs hacking bitches

If there is map creating software out there, I may try my hand at it. What would be real cool would be to alter the physics so all surfaces had gravity. Can you imagine being able to run on the ceiling? That would mess with people heads!

I played a map a while back that had a glass floor. That was a trip. If you went through the glass you fell to your death in the bottom of a funnel pit.

LOL those glass maps provide hours of fun for us PNP guys after our practices. I just try and see how many people I can shoot the glass our from underneath. But back to the topic if you just want to get to know the maps like the people said above create a server on your computer and run around, thats what I do when new maps come out instead of learning with everyone else I take 15 min and just go run around by myself so I dont have to worry about getting shot while exploring the map.
