Now I mostly play bass but I am going toword majoring in music. do you have a spacific ? or are you just trying to get someone the teach you over the internet for free. cus I dont think I would like doing that.

I plays guitar, but as I know 0 music theory, I'm not worth asking about "basics"
Lol, I wish I could even afford a LP or a TSL, cheap gear for me all the way! I play this "Brownsville" brand LP-style guitar i picked up from sam ass for $250 about 10 monthes ago. Last xmas I picked up a behringer gmx212 amp for another 250, its a fricken awesome amp(well, compared to the free 8 watter SA gave me =P). I'd say Yngwie Malmsteen's Arpeggios from Hell is a fair accomplishment for a nubling dat didnt play a year yet =P
Been eyeing an Ibanez S470 lately, that zero resistance trem looks awesome =O

Learn a riff, and do it over and over in slow motion 5000 times, increasing your speed as it becomes easier..
Then do the next riff, 5000 times.
When you do something 5000 times you get very good. But take each riff times 5000 and you will see the obvious.
There is no easy, quick way to learn to jam.
All I have now is a 20th anniversary Fender Squire.....and I never have time to play it.
Ain't played for 20 years but my little bro, who is a great picker, decided I needed one for X-mas.
So there it is.
Used to play, but now I have no time for such things. It takes a LOT of time, if you plan to play music.
Good luck.

IF you like Metallica and ozzy Do like bob said just pick one or two songs you like and play them untill your fingers bleed. YOu will be good sooner than you think. it helps to have a music program that can slow down songs without distorting them. Espically if you are playin metallica cus they play really really fast. :yaya: I used to play meticalla, tool, deftones, and such. so that is my speciality. ask if you hit a bump.

I was talking about playing music, and you......
Went off the edge.
ROFL!!
JK, but in reality if you want to do Metallica it's not as hard as real music.
Jam on.

Just pushin your head bangin buttons dude.
:wallbash:
Played for about three years on and off, which means I'm not very good. I didn't have a good instrument to start out with either. I still have that Fender Stratocaster piece of crap too. I had a Band going for a few years, but I only did rhythem now and then a few times, so I'm not this huge guitar mage with it. All I did was learn the basics and kept practicing from then on out. There isn't much to soak in cerebrally because if you do you'll only saturate yourself. The trick is to explore your own style. Blah blah, shutup.
