Wake is deffintly a rape map but with 31 guys it's not that hard to get 1 of the 5 flags, specialy with a couple unguarded

yeah when im china on wake i always have to defend against frogbait... two favorite CPs for him are #1 North island? The one that is at the end of the PLA runway when the j10 takes off #2 Airfield

always fun having a W33T squad try and Defend/Attack a Frogbait squad especially the TV station on Sharqi, good times, good times

I love Wake Island as US. I like leading a group around to one of the back flags to try to get a beachhead started. It's a challenging map, but not bad. Once the US team gets on the island the combat gets intense.

Well we know W33T, FR, OG, etc. have the sense to change tactics and adjust to each encounter to get the job done, but there are many others, regulars and not that just don't think, they take a boat, ignore everyone asking for a ride and then get blown up halfway there by a tank or chopper, then... They do it again until the rounds over.

I like Wake but now that the base rape rule is gone I'm not sure how great it will do if we put it back.

Wake is a rape fest. I often make it to the rear of the island, only to get stuck with a squad who doesn't know what they're doing.

What would make the map really fun is to have another island base on the other side of the Chinese airbase. Afterall, wake is part of a chain of islands.. make it real simple, like a couple of APC's, a boat or two, a stinger mount, and a helipad w/Cobra or Blackhawk. Now THAT would make a fun map!! China would actually have to work to hold the island!!

I like wake but the US side need some AAboats and apc at carrier. Then they could take on them tanks at the beach.

I thought wake was one of the sweetest maps after the US gets on land. Of course wake does strengthen my utter hatred of the plane whores, that's right, no better than whores selling honor for points. I wish i was still into VBF2 when the no uncap base rape rule was in place, would've been awsome.
So why didnt Dice or EA or who ever continue with the wake island precident? They should've kept releasing new maps like that instead of making expansions with only 3 maps that get old in a couple of weeks.
P.S. I just read the 1.4 updates and talk about a fast response. I was talking about how they should release free maps like they did with wake and bam, they're going to do it. I give +rep to EA, bringing them to a total rep of -999. Good start at a come back, lets see how it plays out.

I always found a HALO drop from a blackhawk to work rather well if you need to get on land. Chopper has to be WAY up there though and it may take a few attempts to get it.

I always had some good firefights on that map. Although, I've also had some of the most boring rounds. I still like it though.
