So you want to know how to knife someone effectively?
Well first off you need to be able to predict the other players movements. no one is perfect but if you know where they might go then you've got an edge against them, no pun intended.
practice on computers to learn you reach with a knife and the best spots to hit them.granted people in real life don't move the same but knowing how is better then not.
There are several instances where you can effectively guess there movements.
First instance, enemy laying down sniping someone else, first off never assume they will not move if you come at them, but also if you approach with speed and accuracy you will be able to kill them with a knife, if you miss however, you will only get one more chance before they will run. so make the first one count. Your chances of killing them drop significantly for a third knife attempt.
Second instance, Enemy not facing you walking or running away, this is a common occurence and should be utilized because they are at their weakest in this scenario. first off you get multiple attempts, but your biggest concern is closing the gap between you and him, you can't throw your knife, so you need to 1. make sure you've got some sprint left to catch up to him. 2. make sure they don't know you are an enemy i.e. not making enemy noises spotting things and such, cause you can tell. 3. most important, never pass them cause if you do you'll get one chance more before their reaction to seeing an enemy takes over. 4. if you are following an enemy into their territory make sure you utilize any med packs on the ground cause it buys you so much more time to finish your job cause people will be shooting at you.
Third instance, Enemy sees you unloads a clip at you and runs around a corner, this is the best opportunity for a knife kill, they are out of the line of fire, stalling for time to reload their weapon, sprint is most important in this situation becuase they can't shoot at you and you've got unlimited ammo:yaya:, in the event they continue to load their weapon you've got seconds to accomplish your task of knifing them. 2 stabs at most before they are firing again, make the most of them. in the event they see you with a knife they pull their pistol you've to remember side to side motions will not allow them to unload enough pistol ammo to kill you.
Fourth instance, my favorite, enemy squad, infiltrate them by jumping right in and trying to knife people, you will in the confusion probably cause some things to happen, first you could get a few of them with the knife and also you could cause tk's for the other team. make sure when you approach a squad moving in formation not to shoot at them but make no aggressive actions until you are in sprinting distance, best to try and find who is the SL or you aren't really helping your team cause you'll be killed and they will just move on. always keep those how are looking at you the priority for you knife, i've been able to knife whole squads just by keeping aware of how knows who you really are. You'd be surprised to know how oblivious people can be.
Fifth, best and most effect method, flag knifing, know the spots people go prone at, sharqi peninsula comes to mind, first the alleyway people like to go prone in front of the sandbag wall, in my opinion you cut the enemies chance of killing you if you can get that close without them firing at you. then the surveillence post also behinf the sandbagwall by the mounted MG they like to go prone there too.
6th, cheap knifer, if you see legs sticking out of a wall then you can knife them, the cheapest way and they don't even see you coming.
7th, enemy wielding another knife, this one is hard to be great at, more like a toss of coin unless they don't know how to use the knife. 3 steps, always keep the enemy in view, only go prone if they do first and if you don't get them get on your feet, 2. crouching is better then going prone cause you've got mobility, if you can get out of their field of view while they are going prone you might get a good opportunity. 3. make it look like you are going to be predictable, let them come to you, if you go after them and they after you the battle will go on for awhile and probably end up someone else shooting you.
8th, enemy medics, they are your friend, especially if you are around a spawn location. first you kill a person doesn't matter how, then you wait watching the body like a hawk and you will see most often a nice enemy medic that comes and revives him, if the dead person isn't quick to get up you can knife them, also you can usually get the medic also. just make sure your approach isn't being viewed by the medic, following them in when they go prone is the best way make sure you get the medic, but atleast get the guy you killed previous, medic traps as i call them, they are both defenseless.
9th, spawn knifing, is not a method i'd recommend but if you stay in that area you could get a few good chances. you have to have great timing if you attempt this method.
beware of prone support troops, they seem to always get me when i go straight at them with a knife, more so then any other class, but if they aint facing you and don't start shooting till you get real close then go for it.
beware of ladders when knifing snipers, let someone else go first to take the claymore, then knife them, too many dumb snipers get knifed cause they don't pay attention to claymores going off, so use that statistic to your advantage.
if you having no luck going out knifing people let them come to you, take advantage of battle lines, two flags which most are spawning at, get on the enemy side and go down the line, they aren't looking at you unless you mess up. they will be shooting, but not at you.
jump only if you have too. i mean jumping you can't do anything anymore, plus you give your enemy time to kill you which is a no no.
Several rules to consider.
1. If an enemy has his back turned he is vulnerable.
2. The element Surprise works wonders.
3. UAV's tell you what direction people are looking, use that to you advantage.
4. The closer you are the better, their guns lose so much accuracy and efficiency if they are shooting while swinging around running from a crazy knifer.
5. Enemy Commanders are a knifers best friend.
6. Show no fear.
7. If someone knifes you knife them back.
8. every person that uses a knife messes up, but its those that keep trying that become good at it.
I hope this helps.
if you are bored with your knife, try your shockpaddles, much harder, but i'll leave KAStickboy to that how to guide.
