And here is my gramps stepping over the enemy in Korea....this pic was on the cover of Life magazine (I think, Life or Time).

He's not the first guy, he's the second guy. Not sure where I get my urge to take the point. :yaya:

I don't think he had any TK's. He did get shot in the shoulder, stabbed through the foot with a bayonet, and has nade scrapnel in the back of his neck, and got frostbit toes that look really bad ever since.

Old soldiers are bad ass.

My step grampa was in WW2, he always used to tell me the tallest tales of his time in that war, how he rolled along the sandy beaches of the south pacific to escape enemy aircraft fire, or how his opened up on a wild boar thinking it was an enemy. But the one thing I can be sure of about my step grampa, is that he was a hero.

Everyone that dons that uniform is a hero. Whether it be my gramps that kills so many guys he won't talk about it, or my daughter, who signed up after 911.

I salute them, or you, all for bravery above the average joe.

It takes extreme nads that most people don't have.

A lot of times I think about it. What would I do if forced into a battle situation, and I think I would be freakin out. I'd be seeing how much ammo I could carry. Give me bigger freakin stuff dudes! I'd be so loaded down I couldn't walk, let alone fight.

Yep, guys (and gals) that go have something that most of us don't.

The respect of everyone else.

Looks just like me.

Ain't she lucky?

:jester:

I got kids this old. You punks need to give me some space, since the bottom line is, I'm comin anyway. And it's better to hide than to get killed.

She's not the pilot, she's the loadmaster. Packs it in the C5, a big honkin transport, flies with it where it's going (Iraq) then comes back home. All you boys, put it back in your pants.

That's Dale Jr.'s tractor trailor rig, not a poster.

(We weren't having much fun that day.)
