If you think vac2 will solve all your hacker problems you're sadly mistaken. I can't believe so many people are getting hyped up about vac2. Call me cynical if you must, but seriously. It's not THAT easy to get rid of hacking. If people can come up with the codes to make the game people can come up with the codes to break the game. Especially when they are making direct mods of the game and using them as what some of us like to call 'hacks'. If people can make mods like The Specialist, they sure as hell can make new hacks.
As far as banning the IDs of people who hack when does that ever happen? If they start it now it won't really matter. It's all a matter of getting a new ID which is quite easy with todays technology and peoples wits. They'll only end up banning people who are innocent who had their IDs stolen.
There's just no way around it. How does a virus protector work on your computer? You first need the virus for the protection companies to come up with a vaccination for it so they can have it out to update onto your protection software to protect your computer from it yet people come up with new viruses every day that get sent out and infect computers everywhere. Just because you get protected from one hack or virus it doesn't mean you'll be protected from the next.

Hacking will be ELIMINATED.....for about 2 hours after the release of vac2. then we will have the biggest surge of hackers we have seen yet as all the hackers will join in order to show off their l33t h4x0rz sk1llz

Vac2 will help, It wont fix the problem, but it will slow the prosses. when a new hack comes out, VAC2 will update and that hack will be banned to. It is just a wepon in the hack war. It wont fix the problem all the way, but I think it will help.

Yes, new hacks will come out that can go around Vac2. Yes, some ppl will find ways of getting new steam id's. But, like some ppl said, Vac2 is a tool that helps. Wipe out hacking? Hardly, but it will curb it. Why? Because Vac2 represents fear in a certain percentage of the hacking community. Fear of loosing their steam ids. Fear is enough to keep most of humanity righteous, basic truth. Not all will be afraid however....

but wont that lower the number of people who hack simply because a lot of hackers dont actually know how to mess with the code? i mean, arent most hacks just downloaded? i cant be the only cs player who doesnt understand code!

Lol. She's having trouble connecting to the server for some reason. I mean we all wouldn't mind a chick that's a regular on the server right? She played 1.6, so she's not a total nub with CS. Maybe one of you guys can help her out with connecting. As far as what she told me it shows up as the Tournament server, and it won't let her in because it's locked. I told her there are other servers, but she says the same thing happens. :wallbash:

Rofl thank you Phyx and I dont know. At first I could see the CS:S Public server but it always seemed empty. The most people I ever saw on was like 6 people at a time when there was people on..then Xine told me to add the FF-On Public because thats where everyone usually goes so I did and it showed 33/33 people on but I wasnt going to play anyways at that point in time because I was on the phone but I went to check later to see who was on by checking server info and it showed the server as crashed or frozen, whichever you'd prefer to call it. The ping for it was at 2,000 and none of the names were generating and the server wasnt enterable. It was the same was CS:S Public. I know I got into the CS:S Public before though and played there so i had been in one of the servers before. Whenever I added any of the 2 above IP addys it'd just add the tourney server for me. However Now I can see the FF-On Public #2 Server and the tourney server but they both seem to be empty too whenever I check. So either I have bad timing and happen to come on when no one else is on or the other server doesnt show up for me for some reason. x_x
Edit: Okay now I see server 1 too yay. I dont know i had this problem for a few days ago. Mighta been steams fault with all their updating and changing shit around.

hahahah if there is ever a problem with a valve game, its usually because valve noticed that somehting was workin right so they needed to release an update to break it :D

keep in mind also, depending on your isp the path through the network could be experiencing difficulty. i went through a few days about 2 months ago where i could not connect to either WiH server.

Punch those into the "add server" box under the Favorites tab
If you cant always see the servers, and if you are using Windows XP, try turning of the firewall.. to do this follow the link:

If that doesnt work, Im not sure what to tell ya.. :dunno:
