Loading Complete. Verify Client Data.?!?!

Ok so recently I wanted BF2 to run better and load faster so I turned all my settings down to LOW, now the maps load like 45 seconds faster but after it's finished loading and says "Loading Complete. Verify Client Data." it takes me like 30-50 seconds until the join game button appears...any ideas why it's so slow? I have a nice PC and should be pretty instant...

That only happened to me when my hard drive started going bad on me. I got a new hard drive and today, I loaded in-game in 30-40 seconds.

Specs:
AMD 3400+
Nvidia 6600gt
1gig of ram
1 300gb Hard Drive (Master)
1 200gb Hard Drive (Slave)

The Verifying Client Data part always takes ages no matter what my graphics settings are :(.

Its ALWAYS taken me this long. I heard that 2GB RAM can help...

That part usually takes me a time for it to load.

Depending on the map it takes anywhere from 15-45 seconds. Guess it also depends on the server if the server for some reason is having trouble.

I think 2 gigs of RAM is the key.

i used to be one of the first ones in the map
i had 2 gigs generic ram and went to 2 gigs CorsairXMS [240 bucks]
now it seems like there are more and more ppl
getting in as quick as i am

i talked to an admin to see if they had added more time
to the start of the maps and he said no, he said more ppl are upgrading
their systems.

so... add ram

When you run it at 1600x1200, how can you see ANYONES names? The text is SO small.

Drop the $350 and get 3 gigs of ram loads take 25 secs for me

I've got 2GB RAM; verifying client takes about 10-12 seconds. I alos get a ping of 7-10 so that might help too.

I use 1600x1200 also; text is really small but readable. The environment is so crisp though, its worth it.

same lol, i have accually been able to use the restroom, nuke a burrito, eat said burrito, and pour myself a drink all before the auroready can kick in

someone told me that you could move youre bf2 folder from my documents to youre desktop, and it would shave a few seconds off, but i have not tried it, i am worried it might cause problems, just cut and pasting the folder

can someone explain that to me?
