Well... Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory came out Monday... I preordered it a few days before that and paid 10 dollars for overnight shipping. Well... here it is on Wednesday and I still don't have the game... Know why? Well apparently those idiots at gamestop.com decided to send people that ordered the PC version... the Xbox version... and apparently they told Gamestop store employees not to exchange the Xbox version for the PC version (I wouldn't be as pissed if they let me do that). They expect me to take EVEN MORE time and send it back to them (the Xbox version) and then they will send me the PC version... which will still mean I am screwed out of a week of playing because THEY F**KED UP. I tried calling their CS department and they told me that I would have to send it in and blah blah blah. So I called the Gamestop store and asked if they could exchange it and they said they were told not to do that.

So... now I emailed them and I refuse to send this version back.. I think it is rightfully mine since it was their screw up that has cost me too much time. I told them they HAVE to send it to me tomorrow with overnight shipping so I would receive it Friday (nearly a week after I SHOULD have had it).

Anyway... don't buy from Gamestop ever again... they can't do business right.

I've heard sooo many horror stories about Gamestop... I've only seen like two in my area. Both are in little stores in unreachable areas...

Oh well.

heh... i only shop at EBgames since they'll take trade-ins for PC or Console.

FYI... Gamestop's HQ is about 15 minutes from my house.

EB is game stop so is Babbages and a few others. I cant say much about GameStop since they pay the company that I work for to keep an eye on there networks but i have never had much of a problem with their stores...... just my 2 cents

You know what? Do what I did. I can wait a day or two for the game. Order from Amazon.

Ok how about this....dont trust anyone with a mail order just pre-order and pick it up your self that way you dont have to mess with the ppl who send you the wrong stuff and also dont have to worry about it getting lost/stolen from the mail... there are not too many thinks that i am willing to buy off the internet if i can just go to the store and get it my self. call me old fashion ( or just old ) but thats the way i handle my manditory gaming buys...lol :jester:

My standard for buying things is pretty simple. I'll give them the money after I physically see what I'm buying at that same point in time. I've had a bad history with eBay, Amazon, Netflix, etc.

Well I also just found out that I am in NO WAY legally obligated to return the Xbox version... but of course they are legally obligated to ship my correct PC version. I went to their site and something weird is going on... it shows my one shipped... and then it has another version for 0.00 under "Unshipped"... so I have no idea what is going on... but I know they HAVE to ship my correct order.

I tried calling them again to tell them that if they simply let me go to the Gamestop in town and exchange them, they will get their game back. They said "You called yesterday" and then hung up. Guess they don't like to please their customers.

i just went to futureshop when it came out, there were 15 copies on display and 6 on the shelf(usial is 12), asked the person at the counter(closest to the storage room) how many they had, they said they were down to 20 in storage and were having a shipment to brin them upto 80 in storage in 2 days.

i like futureshop.

same deal with halo2, they had enough to fill the preorder pickups(about 50) and still had enough leftover to give one to everyone on sale day.

Well... I went a bit far with the "PWNED" thing... but it felt right.

Best thing about it is that Gamestop.com ACTUALLY fixed their screw-up... so since you all listened...

GO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN... or something ;).

I had to read through 2 pages of post to find out that everything is ok! I was kinda hoping you firebombed the store or something! :hump: I think Gamestop owes me something for creating the problem that inspired this thread!
