What happens if you leave a game before its over?

Do you get chalked up for a loss cuz you left early? Do you get the points you got for the round even though you didnt finish it? Is there really no spoon?

I've been told by our provider that ranked servers constantly send stats to the stats server. So leaving before it's over should not affect your scores. Since you weren't there for the round's end, I would imaging that neither were added to your record. however, your kills and deaths up until your discon were retained.

With that said, I've also heard that ranked server only send info at the end of a round.

I believe that the first one is the correct answer. Stats are constantly being sent, or are either being constantly saved, and then sent at the end of the round. So either way, if you play for just 10 minutes and leave, or the server crashes, when it boots back up or hits the end of the map it should send your stats in.

About the win/loss thing, I'm guessing you have to be there at the end of the map for that one to count. I don't know, but I sure have a lot of losses, even though I usually finish in the top 5.

I believe you must complete the round to gain the points, same with any award, I know I have gotten awards and not completed the round and lost the award
not sure if it counts as a loss I would think its like you never played in the first place, hmmmmm

I have been disconnected and got back on in the same round, and i got my points back :thumbsup:

Same here Deadly. I believe wihadmins initial idea is probably the correct one. You retain your points but not the modifier for the end of the round

Some time back on the PBF forums there was an official answer to this, probably linked from the EA forums.

Points are saved during a round on the server, so if you get disco'd and reconnect, you keep them.

However, nothing is sent to the master server until the end of the round, so if you aren't connected when it the round ends, those stats aren't uploaded or recorded. This also applies to the server crashing, anything earned between round start and crash is lost(I've lost a number of badges that way too).

yep i have to agre with kristov..lots of times i crashed and then enter back before the end of the round with all my points. but nothing going official until the end of the round.
i got lots of awards and i crashed right before the end and i lost them.

You know, now that I think about it. I did get my Veteran Engineer badge about 3 weeks ago in a game, and it still hasn't showed up in my stats yet because I'm pretty sure I did leave that game early.
