I just wanted to say thanx TNT for the double post. I missed the first one. So, instead of going back to read the first one I just scrolled down. JK.......
I also hope this is a usefull post about the Saberhagen issue. Canadians criticise the U.S. like crazy. I have nothing against them personally, but if they can dish it out why can't they take it. The word used in Sabers criticism was probably uncalled for, but don't start something you can't finish (Canadians bash U.S. they can expect it back). Oh well, the Canadians on this server haven't said anything so we probably should keep stuff like that to ourselves and just play CSS. Much luv and understanding to Saberhagen.

everyone bashes the US... it's a global party for some... get used to it, as it's part of our lifestyle. there are pros and cons to everything in life people... no need to make the debates and rapports personal.
and for the record... not everyone in the military is pro Bush. you can't tell me he excels in foreign deplomacy or even in domestic affairs... but then, everyone will slant the facts towards their own view.

While I don't like to get into these discussions on forums, I'd like to see some explanation for your comment Jeff.
Personally, I think both liberal and conservative agendas leave a lot to be desired, but without the opposing viewpoints we'd really be mired in a world of shit.

Very well said!!

uh, FYI... one of America's best and strongest Republican Presidents was also formost a Liberal. If you've never read up on Teddy Roosevelt i can't suggest strongly enough that you should. IMHO every President should be modeled after him.

Read "Treason" by Ann Coultier. She documents facts that the democrats have been in bed with the communists, terrorists, and anyone else who opposes freedom on our planet. When it comes to US foreign policy democrats ALWAYS try to appease enemies of the state. F*** that, throw down the American jackboot I say. I used to be a democrat even though I was raised in a conservative Republic family. Even though I served 9 and a half years in the military. After reading this and then following it up with some more research I realized what an ass I'd been. I am now very pro-bush and republican all together. You asked, there's your answer.
You want to be gay, go be gay. You want to smoke weed, go smoke weed. I dont care. When it comes to US foriegn policy though, we need to show the world who the boss is. ( allies excluded) Lobbing a few "smart" bombs after two embassy attacks doesnt cut it.
During the last election I remember running a pathetic smear campaign with a group of buddies and several six packs with some Rage Against The Machine. We walked around food marts and malls with poster-boards reading " If you vote for Bush ... you might be a redneck. " That's all over now, and I don't take opposition to republicans or democrats for that matter. I merely attack who shows their gut first, and, they will show their guts. Bush's problem is that he's ethnocentric. For someone holding such a position with intimate ties that effect the World, he sure doesn't know too much about other Countries. His Religious fervor doesn't sit well with me either, considering I take no part in that gateway psychosis [Religion] either.
I remember watching CNN, NBC, or one of those desensitizers and someone was reporting on Bush's campaign in Churches and the Christian Reich in general. A young boy told him through a microphone that he feels God would want him to be President, and that he felt it was right. ... What the fizuck!? SIT DOWN!

I criticize the US just as much as I criticize any other country. The world is full of idiots, many of them shown displaying their idiocy through the media. Whoever the idiot(s) is(are), no matter where they are from or what their religious background is, I will jump on the opportunity to criticize them. It's as simple as that.
As for being able to take it in order to dish it, we Canadians take it all the time (via US media or firsthand affairs) and then dish it back accordingly. I don't go out of my way to criticise the US, nor does anyone I know, but if something occurs that calls for me to do so, then sure, I'll crack some comments.
I dunno how u can say "understanding to Saberhagen" after he makes a comment sayin all Canadians are pussies. That's just f**king ignorant of Salem.
I'm not even gonna try an explain to Salem what the difference between being passive and being a pussy is..
I'm not getting peeved at u eject, I'm just discussing ;)

After reading "Treason" I could probably pop in a copy of Fahrenheit 9/11 and watch Michael Moore document similar behavior in the Republican leadership, and I wouldn't know what to believe...
The problem is that neither "Treason" nor "Fahrenheit" is entirely right or wrong, and they are not too concerned with it either. The journalists and politicians alike have perfected the art of dancing around that line that separates truth from lie, and are not so concerned with rational debate. The goal is more about firing up your base. Besides, fear and hate are more exciting, and sell more books.
The patriot v. traitor debate is fun too. Reminds me of the following quote. Can you place it?
Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger.
I think I’ll go hide in the corner now and read some Manufacturing Consent instead.
Jwolly, I think that post reached terror level orange! Oh noes! :yuck:

Since this post started off talking about wars in Iran, Iraq, fears and whatnot; I've decided to throw some more gas on the fire.
Recently China has signed into law an anti-secession bill against Taiwan that would grant China the option of using force to maintain its control over Taiwan. Problem? Perhaps, but I don't see how its ours. But, turns out it is our problem. Bush has pledged in the past to help Taiwan defend itself against China. The US is also the main arms supplier to Taiwan, and due to past treaties or some such, is legally obligated to help Taiwan. See the Taiwan Relations Act.

Maybe not, but he could make a stand aginst whatever he doesn't believe in, like the war in Iraq or any other future wars. That is if he didn't believe in it. In other words if he didn't want to take this country to war then we wouldn't be there. That would be stupid of him though. The war is a way for all the people in high places to launder are tax money that is set aside for defense, and stick it in their big fat pockets. I don't know about you'all but this makes me furious. :wallbash:

It is the shadow government that really runs the show, they are a group of extremely wealthy individuals that simply make the decisions, and then pass them off to the president to be made public. Our "government" as we know it, is simply a lie, A LIE I TELL YOU!

We gave Iran, $$, food, and other crap and they promised they wouldnt build nuclear weapons. They have. What??? Your mullahs greenlighted a nuclear attack on isreal 25 years ago already?? Hmm maybe thats why we are today.
Democrats you cant get through to these people. Never going to happen. You need to meet us halfway on foreign policy and understand the republican agenda. They would nuke you soner then you could spit. As would Michael Moore and his shifty cameras.

Majority ( 99%) of Iraquis are more then happy we did what we did. Dont buy what bleary ass CNN says. Ted Turner sold out this country when he married VC Jane Fonda. First of all, Filthy, if you live or are from Canada then there is nooo way you could like Bush. I also never said he was either smart or stupid. Hope that clears things up about that. And as far as much understanding of Saberhagen I said his choice of words weren't good. My personal opinon of anybody from Canada is that until I meet them I am neutral. I hope this clears up some more of my comments that got twisted. Final answer for reasons of my own that I don't have to explain to anybody else Bush sucks and I hope we will get a President that focuses on our economy more than their own vengences or personal bank accounts. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Well as of right now I'm struggling to make ends. Does my president care about that. F$#% no. I'm not the only one that is finding it hard to find a good paying job. Policies dictated by the president have taken the focus off poor people and our own economy and they have been put on things that most poor people either don't understand or if they do they'll find they are not helping them.

I said I hate Bush already : P
As for the comments about general idiots I made.. I said that because when I criticise something or someone, it usual involves, or is, an idiot.
I don't want to explain my comments any further, I'm kinda sick of this topic to be honest.
I hate politics in general, the topic has always turned me off. I think any government set in place will never amount to something the population can really look back on and say "they made a big difference in the quality of our lives".
Bah I'm done :|
Thanks for clarifying ur statements though, Eject.

If one crosses my path in an ill way (a foreigner that is or for that matter anybody) I just might have ill feelings towards them, but not the whole race.
