Myself, alyssa_princess, and kennel dog have a great request:

we need a kubra dam 24/7 server. not only that, but make it 16 players only so the rounds can last forever! it would be like one giant hide-n-go-seek!!

if this server was added to the WiH family, I can see WiH being the #1 bf2 server. period. who's in????????

i actually like kubra dam, but the rest of the free world does not. so, place this request in the dreams-unfulfilled basket and move along....nothing to see here :)

I also like it, but 24/7? Do you know how much ehse servers cost? TO put up another server would cost like $400 a month. If you would be able and willing to pay, I say go for it.

This is an excellent idea. The owners and I have talked about this for a while now. We think that having a Kubra 24/7 would draw in a lot of new players to the community. I'll be converting the #1 server from it's regular rotation over to Kubra today. You guys will love it!!!!

There is one 24/7 Kubra out there but it is 54 player..

having a 16 player server however is a terrific idea.. 3 hour rounds of Kubra dam should be a blast

How about 12 hours of Kubra, and 12 hours of Fushe Pass? That way, all of the extra crashes will make it more interesting!

DW

EDIT: Plus, I think you need to make the server have 16 reserved lsots!

Fushe Pass crashes Trinity Games servers. It's really too bad.

Actually it would be roughly $56.00 a month... Minus any drug deals they can cut.

WTF did you get $400.00?

This is just a totally awesome idea. Mainly because I co-authored it of course. I mean...sure ....kubra damn(intentional misspelling) is so large it really would only be a fun map with about 200 players on each side.....I mean sure its not so great being on foot and having no enemies in sight most of the time..but come on....lets look at the positives. ....hmmm I cant really think of any right now. I need to go sit in a dark room and meditate on this for several hours now. bye

I like it too, along with all the maps. Well a couple things to mention though. Multiplex is right, 16 player servers are in the 40-50 dollar range. Also, if you have 8 players on both sides, the ticket count is so low, the rounds would last 5-10 minutes.

Actually, I am thinking about 16 player size being played with larger server numbers, but still, I can't imagine the rounds would be really long.

I believe the request meant Kubra set for 16 player SIZE with 64 player COUNT. In that case, 400/month would be closer to the cost, but the rounds wouldn't last as long as thought.

And it would actually be a very fun map to play with that setup. Much smaller land area version, mainly focused on the dam itself, leading to a LOT of really good infantry combat. My clan had to play that map in CAL, so we practiced it extensively, and I realized that the 16 player size was excellent for down and dirty infantry fighting on a large scale.

Maybe it could be tossed into the rotation sometime, just to see how well it worked?

Other way around, he knows that if the maps were smaller then with lotsa players maps would go somuch faster. No for really long battles I think he meant 16 players in a 64 size so that there more spread otu and would take longer

well, probably bc you guys are paying for the storage as a whole, and there are gaming servers were you pay for each slot...or am I wrong?

Think of it though, 24 players on Kubra.
You could squad up and get to know each other really well.
You dont have to worry about being shot at that much....

oh wait, I started describing 64 player Kubra, sorry my bad.

Kubra rocks

O.K. I see those are not single dedicated servers though like we have. They share the servers with other customers and that is why they are so much cheeper.

I've played on servers from both of those companies and I have not noticed any difference in performance from dedicated servers, especially for 16 slot servers.
