A War is Hell Gaming TeamSpeak 3 breakdown:
Everyone who joins our server gets put into two groups, a server group and a channel group. The server group sets your overall permissions and your channel group sets a channel level permission.
So, what group are you? If you are joining TS3 for the first time you are automatically assigned to the "Guest" server group and the "Voice" channel group. Everyone at this point is assigned to the "Voice" channel group regardless of their server group.
What groups can I be? There are several server groups that you can belong too. The 4 server groups here at WiH are:
1. Server Admins
2. Admins
3. Registered
4. Guests
How can I change my server group? All those who join the first time are "guests". In order to be registered you have to be a TS regular. Once we notice you are on more and more often, then a Server Admin or Admin, will make you "Registered". "Admin" server group is only assigned by "Server Admins". We won't be assigning everyone to "Admin", only those that display, follow, and lead by example our Mission statement and Code of Conduct. "Server Admins" are only assigned to the Owners of War is Hell Gaming.
So, I have my group, what can I do? Each group is set with different permissions. Each level of server group grants you new permissions. Here is a quick breakdown of permissions:
Server Admins: Can do anything and everything
Admins: Everything below plus - Kick/Ban/Move users, Create Temporary channels, Set "Registered" server group, upload to "The File Room"
Registered: Everything below plus - Text chat to channel, poke user, file complaint against user, download from "The File Room"
Guest: Talk, move between channels, text individual user
While not a complete list, this list highlights the important permissions each group has.

I am having problems setting up my push to talk. I click the button to do it and no matter what button I push nothing happens. Has anyone had this problem? Any suggestions? I have the Saitek Eclipse keyboard if that helps.

what button are you using? I use Right Control. You can also watch the how-to videos to see if you missed a step.

I am trying to use the left ALT button but I tried the right and left CTRL and ALT buttons as well. When I click the button to select it the grey box comes up but no matter what button I push nothing happens. I did watch the video as well to make sure I didn't miss anything. I even reinstalled teamspeak but it just will not work.

Hmm....capture device is set? Can you use voice activation? Running the correct version of TS3 (32 vs 64 bit)

Yep capture device set and voice activation works. I am running 32-bit version as that is the version of Vista I am running. I had the same problem with TS2 but usually once I restarted my computer everything started working. With TS3 it just won't work.

I found the problem on the Teamspeak forums. I have the Saitek X45 HOTAS and evidently that interferes with the setting of your push to talk key. I had to disconnect the HOTAS and select my key then reconnect the HOTAS. I am good to go now.
