DCF help

Can someone post what we all need to get this game to run?!? I had put all the stuff on a DVD, and installed it all, now I updated BF42, and can play in game, but get kicked to desktop when I play DCF, or load in, and yes I have DC on there as well... please just post all that is needed!!! Thanks!!!

i can play it, but it runs kind of badly( mabe it's just my ping or the bad servers, ill see when WiH puts up the server if that's the reason or not). make sure you have the .7 patch. I just downloaded it from there first link here: http://www.desertcombat.com/?page=downloads

and it says it requires bf 1942 to have the 1.6 patch which it sounds like you have.

other than that, i dont know, i just load up bf 1942, hit custom game, select desert combat, and press activate. If that doesnt work, i dont know what to tell you.

Gorro is not messed up... I seriously keep getting kicked to desktop, but I can play eod, no problem... Will try again tonight.

it just hit me that dc and dcf are two different things, right?
what's the difference exactly...one's a beta and the other's a final form?
im down loading and installing DCF now, but what's the difference? I cant play it cause i need to be studying my ass off today and tomorrow, but Ill at least load it up and tell you if im gettting the same problem as you, gorro.


update: i just loaded it up with no problems. i cant provide any help, for i know not what to tell you.
im still confused about the difference between DC and DCF. the differences i noticed while loading it up to see if it worked were the main menu music is different, the voice commands sound more professionally recorded(crisper, cleaner sounding), and my cross hairs get dots in the middle!

U have to have DC.7(the meat of most of the stuff) to play DCF(think of DCF as .7b or an expac)............

Works now! I had to redownload DCF, as DC worked fine, must have been a bad DL the first time for DCF. Played two maps last night... chopper whoring :)

Man I remember how long it took me to even fly them damn helicopters... :wallbash: :wallbash:

LITERALLY several days spent trying to make it do something other then go straight up/flip over/and die.

But once you got the hang of it, you felt you really accomplished something. Now all the choppers are TOOOO easy for new people to fly. :D

I so agree, and it was like riding a bike... I remember Drayu and I, hopping on empty servers, and just having chopper wars, and flying around for hours, they were pretty hard to fly. I say we do a practice run tonight... new thread to come!
