i have 05...and i think its a totally different platform...
Specs:
AMD Athlon XP 3000+
DirectX 9.0c

3DMark 03

Win XP Pro SP2
Intel Pentium 4E, 3000 MHz
Intel Rock Lake D865PERL
Radeon 9800 Pro 256 meg (Omega 2.6.05a)
1 gig DDR 333mhz RAM
3dmark 03
Score: 6027
CPU: didn't say.. where does it say for u guys?
I think my score is pretty low.. considering APOC has a slower CPU and less ram and he only scored 600 below me.
I have norton antivirus, so maybe it's slowing me down. It does have like 5 CPU-intensive processes running at a time. POS.
What do u guys think, do I have a low score or what.. and if so, think I should change to that AVG virus care. (btw phyx, the trial version on the site only lasts 30 days)

Z3 ur score is way to low for ur specs...
With my old comp (Athalon 1.7, 512 RAM, Geforce 3) my score was at least 2,500.

I think Z3's score is from the 05 version of 3DMark. Just a thought! :hehehe:

I think my score is pretty low.. considering...
yeah your score is a little bit low.
disable everything in your system tray before running 3dmark03.
make sure that your antialiasing and anisotropic filtering is set to low or off.
if that doesnt help, try overclocking your radeon with ATITool.
the last thing: your ram is PC2700 ... if you have a bottleneck, it would be the bottleneck in your system. with that motherboard you should be running pc3200 (DDR400) as the 865perl supports a 400 (acually 800) MHz bus speed. i dont know what the real-world performance benefit would be to upgrade.
[EDIT: misread ram type in original post}

Cool, thanks for the info Loop. I know about the system startup processes and tasks, but the fact that my MB can run better RAM was news to me.
