Ok, I am looking to buy a laptop to take on the road with me.
I know nothing about laptops, Bluetooth or anything.
What are some basics that I need to know?
I am looking for a machine that will play BF2 pretty flawlessly. Pricing around a 2500-3000 ceiling.
Help.

If you've got the cash, try and find something supporting Nvidia SLi.
:hehehe:
There are actually laptops out there with dual vid cards now. Should run anything pretty flawlessly.

I bought my laptop thru HP (a compaq r3000), seems to be a better deal than buying stock (unless you find a good deal i guess), because you can customize etc. exactly what you want in it. gl.

Is thee a big difference between Alienware and Dell?
Is it worth it? I have seen some Alienware cheaper than Dells.
I have had a Dell for four years + and have been happy with it.

Redish:
I could have sworn I replied in this thread last night but for some reason none of my posts from last night are present in any of the threads...Strange.
Any ways, the following website was very helpful to me in my search for a new laptop:
www.notebookreview.com
After reading all the info in the forums on GPU, CPU, and FAQ I became familiar with exactly what I wanted. Ultimately, I ended up choosing a Dell XPS M170. Cool thing about it is that the estimated ship date before I placed my order was March 30th, but then I recieved an email confirmation of my order and it said it would ship on or before this upcoming Monday. Neat Suprise and I shjould have it by Tuesday at the latest. Less then a week turnaround town, not bad, not bad at all!

Vid card is the big thing to look for on a laptop, b/c its about the only thing you cant upgrade later. 7800gtx-go is the best laptop card out now.

FYI: Alienware is overpriced. Get a Dell Lappie. A LOT better than their desktops. I love my inspiron 9300.
