At one moment you where offering Beta Tester slots, what preferences does a beta tester need to have to fill out, to be hired?
We do have high demands when choosing a tester. Tester need to have an eye for details so that they can give us feedback. That’s one of the main reason why tester need to have skills in the english language. The Dev Team is comprised out of 9 Countries – that’s why there needs to be one common language.
To bump this issue up: We do not only look for tester with High-End Machines but for various types of PCs, so that we can test how PoE2 runs in a real-world environment.
What was the ambition of American modders to create a mod with german stuff?
The germans have great military equipment to work with. Most Computer Games where germans fill out a role, are usually during WW2 and the germans are the bad guys. Americans like the “modern Germany” and the Bundeswehr has a lot of unique items to offer.
When we decided that PoE2 will act in Europe it was a sure matter that germany would have to be in it.
Are the ingame Pics showcased in the news post-worked with photoshop or original?
Every single Ingame picture you can find on our site is in it’s original form, except for the PoE Watermark. If we would post-work pictures the community would discover it shortly after release. The damage to our image would be heavy.
Do you need a Computer with a better Performance to play PoE?
First off lets say that "ALL" games publishers lower the minimum specs below average, as the publisher want to increase sales by any means possible.
You don’t need a High End Computer to play PoE2. Although, during early test sessions people with 512MB RAM were having some problems. This is due to the fact that PoE2 is not yet totaly free from BF2.
What does this means for the end user?
While PoE:2 will be a "total conversion" until we get into later builds we need to call things from Bf2, like military staticobjects, industrial staticobjects, Vegitation, Effects, and so forth.
So when an end user loads PoE2 they are loading some of BF2 as well. This adds to "total load" of the mod.
This isn’t uncommon; I believe most mods out there will be in the same situation.
When a mod doesn’t have to call components from bf2 anymore, the end user will be seeing greater performance gains.
For the first few builds we will be suggesting that the end user have at least 1024 MB RAM for smoother game play.
Is there going to be a comparison between Low Graphics and High Graphics configurations?
We like the idea of comparing the differences between both graphic configurations. We will suggest this idea to the rest of the Dev Team. I think there will be this kind of showcases in the near future.
Is PoE2 comparable to the EF Booster pack of Battlefield 2?
No. PoE2 is much more extensive. The booster pack consists of 3 new maps and some new equipment of a different army. PoE2 will offer more maps in the first release. PoE will also be 2 new armies with a lot of new equipment and features which BF2:EF doesn’t has to offer.
The Community can’t stand waiting for the Relase of PoE2. Is there a release date set by now?
First off: No, we do not have a release date set. Testing is coming along nicely and without any large complications, it won’t take that much longer.
Is PoE2 more alpha or more a beta version at the moment?
We are at the moment passing the alpha border and hitting into the beta stage.
Why should the community play PoE2 instead of BF2?
There are many reasons to play PoE2 instead of BF2. First off I’d like to mention our models. Our Modellers are doing a fantasting job in creating new vehicles, statics and weapons.
The second thing: Our maps: Our mappers are creating diverse maps. Every map is made with their heartblood. Those maps are a great change to ‘nilla BF2 maps.
Where do the mappers get their ideas for the landscapes?
The mapping team spends a lot of time looking at topographic maps and photos from the Ukraine. They then try to set up a map with an atmosphere of that region so that the player gets the feeling of being in the Ukraine.
Is there going to be a new video of PoE2 in the next weeks?
Yes, now that we have the Ukrainian player models ingame you can look out for some new video footage. Our moviemaker “Illicitfilms” is already taking a lot off video material during test-sessions. I guess that we can show off a new video this month.
Are there going to be new game modes in PoE, except the well-known Conquest? If so, which are not known from the BF series?
Yes, we will also introduce new Game modes. Whether up to the first release the case is, I cannot say yet. We have some members in the team, which have great concpets for new Game modes. In addition, we got some good ideas from the Community. At the moment we are examining which are the more feasible.
Are further vehicles still integrated after the first release?
After the first release we will also integrate more vehicles and weapons from Germany and the Ukraine into the Game. There are some prototypes which have not beeen introduced till the present orwere never even introduced. We want to have a large varity in different Equipment.
Is the Story of the Mod told like a paperback series about release to release on and on?
The Story is continued with every release. You will notice this also in the Maps. Our Story begins in Autumn, then it could happen that there is a later Season on the Maps in the next Release.
Why has the tiger been black?
We have noted that only the Prototype of the Tiger is in black color. In spite of that we have presented the black Tiger to the Community in our Forum. They were inspired by the Tiger in black so we have decided to keep it in the Game.
How deoes PoE play out - more Infantry-Fights or more Armour-Fights?
This differs between the single Maps. There are Maps where more infantry fights and Maps where there are more armoured battles. We think that we have a good mix put together where you need different tactics to win.
Will there also be right Wooden-Maps?
Our fans want to see Maps with thick woods. Therefore, in the Maps in the first release we will have rural areas with open fields and tracts of forest.
Are there going to be Items thus like a throw hook etc. in PoE?
No, we will equip the armies only with regular equipment. We want to simulate the fight of the regular armies and not from Special Forces.
How would the Commander mode look?
How it will look precisly in the end, I cannot say yet. However, we will change it. Our Coders are working hard on changing the Commander mode so that the Gameplay improves.
Do you plan even more Night-Maps except the one known from PoE?
In the first release there is going to be only one Nightmap. If the Community likes the Nightmap, we will have more nightmaps in upcoming releases.
How is aiming goin to be done? Is it more Arcade or Simulation?
We want to make PoE quite realistic as it can be in BF2. But the Gameplay should not suffer from it. Therefore, we also do not want to insert too much realism, thus the Player will not have more fun.
Will there be laser pointer to mark a purpose for a rocket or bomb?
We are working on such a thing at the moment. However, to us it's not clear yet whether we can realize this particular goal.
Will there be the UAV in PoE furthermore?
It has been discussed with the team, but there has been no decisions made yet. We could remove it or even change it completly.
How many players will the Maps support?
Same as Battlefield2, we will have 16, 32, and 64 player versions.
What kind of support you like the commuity to give?
Suggestions and constructive Criticism are always welcome. The opinion of the Community is extremely important to us, because the Community is going to play our Mod. In addition, it is really nice to have a suggestion from the community to be realised and make it into the mod.
