I have some questions regarding the poll for the banning of the awp & the Auto Sniper rifle. I can understand the Auto Snipy because of the overuse the weapon gets. I mean, last night on Aztec, I think 10 out of the 16 CT's at one point was using that weapon. Making it a complete slaughter.

But why ban the AWP at this point. I mean, you can survive getting hit with it. It has a slow reload time and you really can't move with it. It's also a high caliber weapon that allow you to get the one hit kills with it.

I'd rather have just the Auto banned or find a way to limit it to each team down to a reasonable number.

But if you ban both, you just have the Scout, which I love. But still, I'd love the option to use the AWP if I feel like using something with more umph to it.

Those 2 weapons were the most complained about. This is from the player community and not War is Hell. We'd like to hear what the community has to say about it.

ok yeah it is easy to kill with the auto sniper....but it is also easy to be killed. if your lokking at someone way away then someone else can kill you with a knife. i think we should keep all weapons. if you take away anything take the awp. you get shot once and your dead, that takes less skill than the 2 shots you have to put in someone with the auto sniper.

I always looked at an AWPer as a challenge to kill. An Auto Sniper is no challenge. They kill you rather fast and have 0 reload time. You miss with an AWP, and that gives the enemy time to react and kill you.

The poll did speak it for us. However, removing the AWP permanent might hurt the server in the long run, along with the scout on dust. I suggest, at the very least, taking off the scout dust restriction and at most, allowing the AWP.

ya, it might hurt new people coming in, but i think for now we should try it out and see how it affects the rounds (ya know, instead of being all one sided most of the time)

I'm starting to see that the T's are actually having a chance at winning on maps like dust and aztec with the awp and auto-sniper gone.

as Vryllyn said "one shot one kill capability" includes up close combat shots in the close environments.. It is too easy to kill with in both close and distant environments. I agree totally with the ban...

Our goal is to make the server a fun place to play. As such, we are trying hard to balance out the maps that are heavily for/against 1 side. When we see stats like 10-0 wins consistently on a map, that map is not very fun for 16 players on the losing side. We want to see stats that are more even.

The next thing we're going to be working on is unstacking the teams....

Losing the sniper rifles on dust was brilliant. I've succesfully now autochosen team "terrorist" 41 times in a row. Blahhhhhhhhhhhh. By time 10 I had just resigned the game as to ok watch the heros die at mosque entrance and sit back. Wait. Wait. Check tunnel. Nope those guys still good. Back to Mosque. Here comes a nade. Flasbang. 2 more nades. Quickly spray into mosque. You have killed sf-headshot! You have killed khardboard! LIGHTS OUT. Boom. Overrun by the CT's through the tunnel.

Since then, I have seen scores of 6-5, 7-5, anyways a lot closer scores and a lot more fun. ( I even saw a terrorist make it up the tunnel ramp once...he died though).

Now if I can only get my CT team to help me storm the top of Parensi.

i've seen a definite improvement in the evenness in rounds on dust and others. i hope the admins keep up the good work :thumbsup:
