Is it an advantage to have big a big fat screen?

I've got a 17" , but I just feel like I get abused every time I turn a corner. Does a big screen help?

And secondly, I got a headphone/mike combo, that I would like to hook up, but it's a major pain in the butt to pull the box out and swap wires. I have a Dell, with an Altec Lansing 5.1 sound thing on it. Is there an adapter or jack or something that I can hook up front, that will let me use my headphones/;mike without pulling the whole carcass out of the cabinet each ime I want to play?

Thanks for any tips.

bigger screens do nothing. the screen is still flat the best thing to do around corners is to perhaps improve ur strafing techniques. Um... i never liked mic headphone combinations so i cant really help with that.

when u approach a corner, strafe with the keyboard, dont turn with the mouse. The mouse is so u can aim, the keyboard is so u can...turn corners...well uhh...just work on that and you'll imorove ur game.

This may be the craziness talking, but I'm thinkin that the bigger the monitor the more space your eyes have to scan for enemies. Imagine playing on one of the Gateway big screen things, you would have to put your head on a swivel to scan one side to next..

then again, who knows.

i htink what decaff is trying to say actually does apply....just not to monitor size, but rather to resolution. The higher the resolution you are running the more you can actualy see, regardless of monitor size

I think resolution, mouse speed, and strafing are the most important. Also try not shooting at anything when you turn corner, just look, find them , hopefully they didnt see you look, then waste them. Or look, then set aim before you go back around corner. If they didnt see you then they just might be in the same place. Then you can waste them. Be carful that if they did see you they are probably waiting to waste you. Whether they are setting aim on you to come around the corner or they are charging. Set volume high enough and you can hear them charge. Most the time if you cant here them charge they found a good spot to waste you when you come back around corner so take one more look, find them, then the third time might be a charm. Waste them. Just a little strategie to practice around corners. Hope it helps anybody that reads. Oh yea, sitting still will get you killed, but moving makes you easier to spot, so look fast or get shot! :sniper:
