Just play to have fun man. I don't know how it is with other people, but sometimes you tend to pick up more things when your mind is at ease and you're enjoying something you're involved in. If you're playing competitively you're much more focused and thinking up things such as strategies, or even your failures. Having fun in most cases will allow you to grow and get better as a player. Granted, there are a lot of good people here and it's also the best server I've found, but it's a great place to get better.
