Come to think of it, this comes out today. I think people should chant, friends don't let friends see "Bloodrayne."
Is anyone here sick enough to see it?

The terminator Loken is in it. Is this based from the video games?

A director that like to make adaptations of Video Games and then proceed to make the worst movie possible, i.e. House of the Dead and Alone in the Dark.

now I understand. I had the displeasure of catching House of the Dead on cable. OMG!!! Stabbing myself would have been more fun.
Yeah, someone should really assassinate that guy ... ... "not really"

People like him should have the ability to direct torn away and then he should be beaten with bricks and stoned. Then forced to watch his own movies for eternity.

Rotfl that's a little harsh. Except for the watching his own movies thing.

I wanted to go to the movies tonight but wasn't sure what to see. I had no idea what this movie was so I thought I might check it out. But you are scaring me now.

Simple... Read the reviews for Alone in the Dark and House of the Dead. on Yahoo. Then re-think if you want to see Bloodrayne. Seriously, the director makes some of the worst movies that you could possibly think of.

HOw does some like that get to be director? Does even a shitty movie lose money? If not, that probably explains why this guy keeps getting jobs as director. Or maybe Boll is too stupid to read the freakin screenplay to determine which movie is good to direct and which one just plain sucks.

If a movie has like a million dollar budget, and makes 2 two million, then it's a successful movie. He probably has a small budget and either makes or breaks even by suckering people into watching.
Come on, we have all watched a Ed Wood movie at some point. Plan 9 from Outer Space, anyone?

I try to stay away from those game-to-movie horrors. Wing Commander anyone? Aparrently in space you always have to burn fuel to move, and craft handling is the same as if you are in a jet.
I love to hate that movie, and bring it up whenever I can.

Man, did you ever see Dungeon & Dragons? I think that is truely the worst movie that I have ever seen.

In movies overall, I would have to say Battlefield Earth is one of the worst that I have seen.

Concerning Wing Commander- that is how the ships in the game handled, silly! Just like in Star Wars.
It's funny to me that movie studios gamble and often lose on crappy movies like this. Why can't they figure it out- a decent director and a good script will make a decent movie. You don't have to hire Spielberg, and you don't need a $3 million script that takes 3 years, but seriously.
Doom was awful, Mortal Kombat was...er...okay. Street Fighter was terrible, I actually liked Resident Evil (but the second one blew big time), Super Mario Bros was surreal, I liked the first Tomb Raider (didn't see the second one)...etc.
You don't need Tom Cruise or some other high $$$ actor. I think the problem is that the movie execs can't see the forest for the trees, you know?
Let me give an example: Resident Evil was NOTHING like the games. Imagine you were doing a movie that was more true to the games (thus making fans happier and probably bringing in more money).
An exec who is responsible for the funding to your movie checks in, and looks at your script, and says, "How can you set a whole movie in a mansion? Boring! We'll lose male teens! Why aren't there any hot chicks? We'll lose the whole male demographic!" So unless you want to lose the funding for the movie and probably get fired, you have to rework the film. "Put it in a real sci-fi kinda setting, give them a lot more guns, kids these days wanna see explosions! Can we get a crotch shot of Milla? Perfect!"
And it's not really that the execs are that stupid. My guess is that statistically, they know what sells at movie theatres, so if they recommend that and the movie STILL tanks, they can say, "Well, I made all the correct choices!" But if they were to go out on a limb and support a movie that didn't contain all the elements in their "Succesful Movie Aimed At Teens And Young Adults" formula and the movie tanks, it's their ass getting fired.
My feeling with a lot of movies is that, sad as it is, the execs are (naturally) more concerned about keeping their jobs then they are about giving filmmakers a chance to produce something really special. I mean, a Super Mario Bros movie is never gonna be something that great. But (even though I liked it) Resident Evil pretty much sucked. It could have been an awesome, suspenseful movie that made you jump in your seat and dread the next door they went through, just like in the game. I think that the movie-making process kills these movies FAR too much.
Oh well.

I'm one of the few, the disgraced, that enjoyed that movie. Of course, everyone told me how bad it was that I expected a bad movie. So, because of that I enjoyed. Don't know how.

What are you talking about?? Kung Pow was an awesome movie and a ground breaking technologically superior movie. IMO, it deserved an Academy award for acting, humor, and CGI graphics.

Heh. I've actually seen Plan 9 from Outer Space and it's in a competition between some of the gaming movies and itself for suckiest movie in existance.

One of those types that is so horrible, it is fun to watch.
That said, perhaps that is why Vryllyn liked Battlefield Earth. I myself actually sat down and watched, plus enjoyed it for what it was. When I looked back on it, at that time it occured to me that it had some serious flaws.
It has been a long time since I have seen the Mario Brothers movie, but I think I enjoyed it.
Overall on the Bloodrayne after seeing the previews on tv, it looks like it would be less than entertaining. Look forward to In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale. Same chick plays in both, and same director as well.
/me drops some valuable info
IMDB has same director listed for Far Cry and Postal. Both are listed as announced.

I actually liked Kung Pow, I almost died laughing during that movie.
Bloodrayne looks like a steaming pile of monkey doo, being pissed on by a mossy south american sloth.
Uwe Boll or whatever the hell his name, should not be allowed to create any more movies, in fact he shouldn't even be allowed to live. Somebody needs to call G.dubya, cause were looking for the wrong guy! Osama is the least of our worries when we have guys like Uwe Boll making suicide endusing movies! Hell his name even sounds like a desease, "why wern't you at work the other day?", "Oh I got Uwe Boli". I think if we looked into it, we could probably trace the source of the bird flu back to one of Uwe Boll's steaming piles of crap.
In the words of that one chick on surviver "Uwe Boll, if I saw you on the side of the highway, thursty and out of breath, I would not stop to give you water, I would let the vulturs and snakes take you and do whatever they want with you"
GOOD DAY SIR!

I don't know how reliable they were, but someone told me that he (Uwe Boll) buys up the licenses for these game movies. Meaning that he probably already had money from somewhere.

Hehe, guys do youtselves all a favor and go see Grandma's Boy, at least it has the humor we all have when playing vidoe games (And the humor of 40 Yr Old/Wedding Crashers).
I work in projection at my theatre and we did not recieve it for it's opening on Friday (found out no one did, Uwe Boll's company canceled all shipments while they were enroute, yes it is that bad). Needless to say when we built is and screened it, the only way to truly enjoy this film is to take some buddies for some MST3K FTWINZ.
God Uwe Boll's films should bring back that show. Get ready for his next film, here is the poster.......Burt Reynolds + Knight Armor = WTF are they thinking?????

Fear not, Peter Jackson is the lead producer of the film (WETA Works has the special FX), and the director they want is Guillermo Del Toro (Hellboy, Blade 2). In addition to these announcements they have gone on to say that Uwe Boll will never own the property.

Sure, they had cool action, but the rest was sub-par.

Damn, I love that movie. It took me FOREVER to finally get my hands on it, and it was so worth the search. I now go around forcing my friends to watch that movie and so far I've not be banned from anyone's house. :hehehe:
It is a bad movie, but it has so many WTF!?! moments in it. I think a poster on the IMDB said it best, "It is, in fact, the perfect movie.'
As for some of the other movies mentioned... Battlefield Earth was funny in the fact it tried to be sierous. (Gotta love the HUGE boots) Bloodrayne I will probably never watch..
