I received a piece of mail today at work, my name and address typed on it, with a ripped out page from an executive magazine... with a sticky note saying, Mike, Try this. Its really good! J there is no return address, it came from California, I am wondering who the hell it is from, obviously someone I know, but who... has me confused... and it is very shadey... the only person that I know who uses J like this, is my mom's boss, but this is definitely not from him... OMG... WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :wallbash:

Wait, if there's no return address, how'd you know it came from California?

Also, what's on the ripped page?

it was stamped California, and it is something about being an exec officer or some crap, I dunno, it is really wierd. Like someone took the time to stic the envelope in a type writer, and type out the envelope...

Well, to stray a bit off topic...

Something like this happened to me a while back. I was at work when my wife e-mailed me and said, "Did you order a plasma TV?" I replied, "No dear, because I would only get to watch it for like ten seconds before you murdered me."

She says, "Well, somebody tried to deliver one today. I thought it might be a scam so I didn't even accept it." I replied, "Okay, well, if they try to re-deliver tomorrow I'll figure it out".

Sure enough, a semi truck comes rolling in and delivers a brand-new 46" Plasma TV from Samsung. The package was addressed to me, at my address. But I hadn't bought it! No weird charges on my credit cards or anything.

I didn't open it, because I knew it would be wrong to use it if I hadn't paid for it.

In the end, I had to call the freight company: "Oh, we're just the freight company, you want the AIR freight company!"
I called the air freight company: "Oh, we're just air freight, you want the warehouse!"
I called the warehouse: "Oh, we're just the warehouse, you want the retailer!"
I called the retailer (a company I had not heard of): "Err, we don't have clue why you have a new TV."

Thirty minutes later a very nervous-sounding manager called back, "Mr. Goose (not my real name ;)), umm, errr, did you, um, open the TV?" "Not at all! I knew something was wrong about the whole thing." "(HUGE sigh of relief) OH! Great! We'll send the freight company back out to pick it up!"

The company I had bought my PDA from a couple months before had put my name in their central database. When some other poor guy bought a TV from one of their OTHER retail outlets, they charged his card but somehow sent it to the name and address on my account. So in the end I guess he got his TV.

But the moral of the story is this: Damn, this was a long post.

My dad got something EXACTLY like this not too long ago. He brought it to me asking if I had seen it before.

Junk mail I would venture to say. You can buy post its with stuff preprinted on them, I would imagine that would extend to something that looks like handwriting as well.
