Demos

How do you view demos. I put the file in my Half Life 2 folder - or does it need to go deeper? ALl I have is a HL2 folder and a Steam folder. There is not a folder called CS:Source. Any help?

They are in, or you can put them in the folder with this path depending on how steam is installed on your computer.

C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\ your name/email here \counter-strike source\cstrike

then open up source and in the console type "playdemo " with the space and you should get a listing of all the demos.

If the demos are pre-the last valve update, they won't work.

I put the demo in the folder you pointed out:

:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\ your name/email here \counter-strike source\cstrike

I go to game. Go to console. Type in playdemo (file name) and nada! It says it can't read it.

yeah i tried going back to view demos of a no-good haxor, but was extremely unsuccessful due to the patch :dunno:

i think that you should try recording some demos, try playing them back, and then if it works, see what directory it saved to
