Anyone seen Spongebob Squarepants movie?

I just saw it Saturday. It's full of that "Adult innuendo" that just makes the cartoon hilarious. :thumbsup:

My question is: as a parent, how do you explain to your kids why Patrick - the starfish - is wearing high heels and fish net stockings?:dunno:

As a married guy with no kids, id feel wierd goin to the movies to see that unless the wife wanted to see it, but uh... Spongebob is a funny cartoon. Question: Does anyone here believe what they say about it being a openly gay cartoon. The gays seem to think so... and I just dont know haha.
I think its a funny cartoon because of exactly what you said that alot of manly men dont get about cartoons most often but why I like alot of em that ppl think r for kids but always have alot of adult humor that kids dont always notice but is there most times. Those r the ones I like anyway, just strange how ppl dont seem to notice that. Since I dont have kids I dont see it as wrong just strange really.
Anyway that aside, was it any good?

Spongebob acts a bit girly sometimes, but I don't think it's an openly gay cartoon. What I like about the cartoon is that the other characters feel the same way about Spongebob as we do... they see him as a weirdo. The show's full of innuendo and jokes that only adults would understand. One such joke I liked was when Patrick, Spongebob's goofy friend got scared for some reason and a closeup of his pants showed a Hershey Kiss (in the wrapper) fall out. That had me rolling on the floor :rofl:

The movie was good, but not as good as the regular cartoon. It's just difficult to stretch one story line an hour and a half when normally the cartoon runs about 12 minutes.

Bottom line... If you've seen Spongebob before and liked it, go see the movie. If you've never seen the cartoon, don't see the movie yet. Rather, try to catch a few episodes of the cartoon and see if the humor is up your alley.

Yea I love the adult humor in Spongebob. But there were so many cool shows on nickelodian back in the day... *sigh*.
