Well i've been selected out of like everyone on Xfire to chat with the developers of SF tonight on Xfire, i'm one of the 100 people that won! So basically are there any questions you guys want me to ask them? Post your questions here and I'll try my hardest to get them answered tonight.

Why does SF run like poop on my computer when BF2 runs fine?

Will any of their patches ever actually fix what they say they are going to fix?

(not sure if the developers of SF have anything to do with these questions though) Probably more of an EA thing.

Well i'm assuming outright disrespect towards them won't get your questions answered but i'd say a big question is about repair points? Why does it take so long to get even 1 point for repairing a whole tank from nothing as opposed to zapping someone w/ paddles for 2 points quick or dropping a health pack for 1 point quick or even dropping ammo for 1 point. The effort/reward ratio doesn't seem to fit.

C4 kit switching from pack to detonator it switches back sometimes making you put a kit at your feet instead of allowing you to blow shit to all hell.

Definitely why is there no ground answer to planes? More specifically why aren't planes more fragile and vulnerable to AA?

How can you shoot a missle right at a helicopter and have it go through the side of it and come out the other side? AA Issue again.

My big thing is the engineer crap.

Yeah, getting the expert engy badge and few of the medal (specifically the one where you need 1000 resupply points, 1000 heal points, and 1000 repairs) is technically impossible to get now.

One thing for sure is the problem alot of people seem to be having with netcode and engine coding issues and general compatibility. The fact that some of us have killer machines: i.e, 1gig - 2gig's of ram 6800gt video cards, ect. and can play every game on the market, yet BF2 and SF stutter like crazy.
Now with alot of work, my performance has improved, but even still, playing a much prettier game like Call of Duty 2 is far less taxing than BF.. doesn't make much sense.. I think you get the picture.

My big thing is the engineer crap.

Agreed, it took an entire round of sitting in a damn helo repairing just to get the basic repair for me, and as an infantry man I didnt like that at all. I'd much sooner be mixing it up on the ground.

Also relating to Engineer and Spec ops, why cant they stop supply crates from fixing commander assets, it negates the effort of trying to destroy them and get back to fix them.

SF = special forces... obviously but you people didn't catch on?
No planes or Enginear awards in SF

Which is also my question.. Are they planing on adding planes and/or more awards into the Special Forces expansion

Repair points have nothing to do with awards. How long it takes to get a repair point is an issue.

Why do the medals say 4500hrs? But the progress bar in BF2s looks like it is counting to 250hrs, just like the medals for USMC, MEC & PLA do in vanilla BF2.

Why are the AT missles so under powerd? For god sake you shoot an Attack chooper, Black Hawlk, or any other chopper with an "Anti Tank" Missle they shouldn't just walk it off. Come on how many of you have shot a Black Hawlk dead center with an AT missle like 3 times and it just fly away. I say Nerf BH and give the Ats more punch. Also take those damn Mini Guns and slap a pair of 50s on the Black Hawlk, that'll put an end to chopper whoring and allow the Transe port to be used for what is was made to do....that being move troops on the battle field not sky dragon of death and or a flying tank.

I'll admit I tried last night w/ less than desirable measures to get that gold repair badge and guess what i got 30+ repair points and i had 250+ total to that point on my record and no badge. Imho ubar is uber wrong on that badge.

Q"Why are there no new unlocks for sniper or AT kits?"

A"OK OK ... ;)
We didn't include unlocks for these kits because we only had 5 ranks to play with, so unfortunately that allowed for only 5 unlocks

so that left 2 kits out, and we felt that the sniper and AT had some strong unlocks already"

there ya go that was one that I asked and he answered it

Glad it was answered, but don't like the answer. I would have chosen AT over engineer.

Tell me you were able to ask more questions then that? Now that I think about it, 100 people like us asking questions would actually be pretty crazy...Fill us in on other things you may have found out!

Could you please ask them if they could implement a feature where ramming choppers with jets or other choppers is considered a teamkill or negates ones points. It is annoying to see unskilled individuals do so as a means of taking down an enemy they cannot seem to possibly take out. Only to have them laugh and pick at you ...such as "omgwtf i pwned you still newb"! Very annoying. :(

No. Ramming is a legitimate part of the game. I'm tired of listening to people complain about this. It actually takes more skill to ram another air vehicle than to shoot it down.

Not so much that but in the history of war suicide tactics have always been considered a desperate yet (unfortunately) practiced aspect of warfare. To say "thats not fair" is inconsequential to the fact that it happens. If anything, in this particular game I think its a testimant to what we has a nation have to deal live with our sons and friends overseas. Certain unfair aspects of a war game should teach us the unfair aspects of war itself. Don't you think there is something to learn, even in games?

Besides, we can belittle all the little bastards who do it to us in RL as we poke fun of them in our jeeps loaded with C-4 as we yell "JIHAAAAD!! Dirka Dirka Muhammad" and plunge it straight into the bellys of the infidels!
I get a kick out of it!

And I am tired of hearing others state it is a legitimate part of the game. First, that is an opinion of your own. Second,it removes the overall realism of condition. Now understand what I meant when I stated "realism". I am not saying I play Battlefield 2 expecting complete total perfection realism. What I mean by "realism of condition" is in war or battle when a pilot dives his air vehicle into another they will not be having that christmas dinner with their family nor will they come home to their loving wife and little timmy or suzy. Although I am not asking for complete realism this type of action should not be allowable without penalty. Anyone who fails to see such a point are rammer lovers who get a bonifide kick out of this action. Or at least ask them if they will implement a change where ramming another air vehicle DOES NOT award any points at all.

Now JKRMAUI, think about this for a second and remember that you can shoot a guy in the head with a pistol multiple times and they don't die. Besides if the AT missile was much more powerful, then it would take some of the balance out of the game. :hump:

Man, I don't know what it is with all these people playing BF2. Didn't you guys ever play bf1942 or bfv? One of the great things about battlefield is taking a vehical, and ramming it into a vehical that has more people in it. It's fun. It's funny, and most importantly, it gets the job done. Plus you lose 4 points for killing yourself, so you usually don't recieve any points unless you kill a blackhawk full of people.

Anyways, where's that chatlog?

But it can also screw over other people... Because the person who is traveling slower gets the kill (in a vehicle vs vehicle situation ramming) if you take a heli and ram it into a loaded apc, he gets the kill (on you), but also gets teamkills for all the guys inside... This leads to a quick autoban for the "victim" when he did not do anything.. maybe even a permban if the admins do not see all the facts :dunno:

He said "(in a vehicle vs vehicle situation ramming)." But I think this applies in all but situations with planes.
