Spawn Rape

I was sure that there was a rule at your server that spawn raping an uncapable flag on a bf2 server was strictly forbidden, unless all other flags were taken. If there is no such rule, then the rest of this post is worthless don't bother reading on. Today, I was playing as the allies and 2 other flags were available to take for the chinese, despite this fact though achilles-GER sat atop the hillside with an aa gun plowing down anyone, and any vehicle that spawned on the carrier. I'm sure you're thinking, why didn't you just spawn at one of the other two flags....well obviously that would be a great plan if it weren't for the fact that Achilles singlehandedly had took out everyone at the carrier before they had the chance to move, leaving the other two flags readily available for rape from the other 32 members of their team. I was very dissappointed that two WiH were not only on this team with Achilles and didn't seem to have any problems with it, but also that TopAgent was even participating, sitting in the water outside the carrier in an APC making sure anyone who spawned below at the boats was quickly taken care of. I'm sure my bitching really doesn't bother, I'm sure it won't adversely affect any of you guys' days or weigh down your conscience any; but when your server's motto is Duty, Honor, Loyalty, people tend to expect something a little more fair and balanced.

Due to the set up of BF2, spawn camping is allowed, as there are Artys and such to blow up in mains... we had forbid it in POE, but BF2 is different, it is allowed.

This happens alot on Dragon Valley when the US side don't work as a team...I normally resort to jumping off the Carrier on the hill side and swimming...I make it about 70% of the time...then I just cap another flag and everyone spawn there....

Alright well I got something say about this.

Base raping is a tactic used to help suppress the threat of having the other bases taken. Taking out the bomber as it spawns or destroying radar UAV art so on is an effective tactic.

NOW I remember dragon valley really well and I'm not going to deny I did attack the Carrier BUT we did hold all the flags. Only time I base rape when we don't have all the flags is on Gulf of Oman. On dragon valley we had all the flags so I decided to take the APC from the main base and took it to the carrier. I did kill the people at the bottom but of course I have to. Now I did take out that USS Essex 3 times and only because we had our jets attacking the carrier so that was part of strategy.
The guys I killed underneath the carrier were only 3 and I didn't stay there long at all. Killed those 3 and got off the APC and went to attack the top which in where I killed 4 people with the AK/GP before I got killed myself.

Only after I died did we then lost 2 flags and then I switched to capping the flags. I remember that day well.

Only defending the fact the way you make it sound I like 15 people just spawn killing them. I'm in no way defending the fact I didn't base rape. I admitted to it and now said when I base rape.

P.S. Jets attacking main base I don't consider base rape since they can't cap flags except maybe the F-35B with Hover Technique lol.

i'd just like to say that on dragon valley, i would never hover with my pilot (rajun_cajun) in the mi-28 and constantly blow up everything on the carrier with my TVG as we hovered outside the view distance and AA range, that would be wrong and i would not condone it...

I sorry you had a bad experience. Unfortunately, I don't think that BF2 is the best game for staying fair and balanced. All to often one team seems to leverage their strengths better than the other.

IMHO it's the worst when someone gets into the plane b/c they have a faster loading computer and just spawn rapes the other teams airfield just rediculous.

Yepppers 2-3GB of RAM is the way to go, even with 2GB i still load sometimes and both planes on our side are gone. Guess i need 1GB more.

Spawn rape serves a porpuse as well (given the arty uav and what not), these are game objectives. To get these objective gives your team an advantage, and to kill your enemy's while your there, its like cutting the supplies of your enemy.
When Fathergoose and myself make it to the enemy base it is always with the objective of getting uav and arty, but we do enjoy the harasment of the enemy at that base. We may even be causing such a problem for the other team that they have to divert more forces to take care of us.
Sure, it sucks when it happens to you, and you enjoy the revenge of it. :1poke:

I'm fine with spawn rape, it happens to you and you can do it back...no biggie! One of my favorite things to do is take a buggy and go to the enemy airfield and just run over enemy after enemy while they wait for the choppers/jets :jester:

It sucks, but if your team cant worktogether and capture at least ONE other flag, then I have no mercy.

I'm mixed on spawn killing. I think that if your capturing a flag, and you have a member of the squad nabbing them as they respawn to prevent them from interfering with your taking of that flag it's ok, but the people who sit in the same spot just to get points and kills is just dishonorable.

Like Jimmy said a couple posts ago, I only spawn camp when my squad is trying to cap a flag. Well, really just until they've neutralized it. Your post made me laugh because anyone who pays attention knows that TopAgent is one of the biggest campers/easy trophy getters on the server! lol, but as its been said its there for everyone, and no one can tell me if they were sitting right at a spawn point with a PKM, they wouldn't just settle down and give the enemy a good raping.

I hate being spawn raped to or base raped, but ya know what when ya think about what are u supposed to do you are supposed to keep the enemey at bay so on certain maps I love flying the jet over the US carrier before they can get off the ground, that is war attcking the opponet and their base.

All is fair in love and WAR as they say.............I have had it done to me and I can't say I feel bad when I get the chance to pay them back for the same thing.

It's not right, but since when is WAR fair and right. If the little lamo can spawn kill me, you can bet your sweet A@# I'm gona pay you back with interest, you can count on it. :thumbsup:

Don't mean to steal the thread, but the same goes for you commanders that waste all your artillery on 1 man...........ME. I will make sure you have a hard time shooting it much less getting a look at where my team is if you continue to attack one man..........ME. :D

I know a lot of servers that have rules concerning uncappable flag rape, but those are all for BF42 or BF:V or their mods. They are also servers I generally tend to avoid, with a few exceptions. If the enemy is down to ONLY their uncappable base, it's logical to kill them in that location before they can get out and cap a flag.

For BF2, I am not aware of any servers that have the uncappable rape rule, since BF2 has the commander assets in that area usually and they are valid and important targets.

Please, if you know of servers with this rule for BF2, list them so we know where to not play.
