Hi guys i got to VA dont have my stuff up here so i can only talk to ya'll in the forums, which im more than happy to do. If Anyone that has played with me has any issues, or anybody else that finds there way here has any issues and none of the admin r around just post stuff here or in the issues Area and I know they'll help ya. Just dont be scared to ask these guys for help, or report violators of the gameplay rules. Hackers shouldnt be put up with so its important u report em if u see em.
If yer a newb to CSS well, you may not entirely know what it looks like if someones hacking. I'll be honest Ive never dealt with em b4 cuz i played the old CS on LAN only so i never dealt with it, but ive tracked down a few of the hackers on the warishell server for these guys and Ive figured out what 2 hacks look like so far and thought id let anyone who happens to notice but is scared to say anything. So your sure ill post what i know (they may move this i dunno to the issues forum haha).
Anyway, a speedhack to me, is the most obvious of any hack ive seen on this game so far. From your perspective it may seem like rlly bad lag because they'll be in one spot and suddenly your dead and they killed someone else not 2 milseconds after haha. Its as cheap a cheat as they come in CS and heres how you can be absolutely sure its a cheat. If you die by someones hand, and it seems odd how they moved like superman to get to you when the round just started, goto spectators (you should watch em for a couple rounds just to be sure altho this hack is extremely obvious) Watch thru their eyes (in case you dont know how the spectator cam works just push yer duck button once and it'll switch to first person camera) and go to that person (their name should be at the bottom). When you watch thru their eyes it should become apparent right away that they r speed hacking because they will be moving at the speed of light and will be having obvious control issues because the character moves so quick but as long as they keep moving they'll kill at least 4 or 5 dudes before some1 gets lucky enuff to come up behind em and shoot em. If you watch em and they are moving this fast (you'll know it will be unnaturally fast compared to what your used to when u play) they are definitely speed hacking.
Wallhacking... This one was complicated to me and Im not sure i have all the info to tell you honestly how it works or how to tell completely without feeling they may just suck at aiming so ill give you info as far as I know on it to tell yawhat I know of this hack and just watch out for it. First thing you'll notice about these guys is they always seem to know your there no matter how good you r, or how stealthy u decide to play. Now they obviously cant see behind them, but from what i know of this hack, they can somehow see thru the walls thereby giving them the ability to get the drop on everyone before the person comin up even knows they r being hunted (especially when they should be the hunter if u get my drift) When you watch em in first person mode you'll see em make obvious mistakes because of their advantage tho. Because they can see thru walls you'll often see them shooting at wallls, floors, boxes and doors even when those objects cannot be shot thru and yet (this is important) they have very accurate killing shots. Some people, I know, just cant control the weapon that well, and they will tend to shoot like a nut sometimes trying to hit someone to no avail. These guys usually are obvious because they r not bad shots. They will always hit there target when he is in range, and yet you'll see em shoot at the floor or at a wall or at a thick door when a normal person with a good grasp on shooting his weapon, would stop firing at these things. With such an accurate and deadly shot its more than obvious that this person is cheating.If you have a good shot theres no reason to be shooting at something that is thickly stable because that would suggest a uncomfortable shooter which when you watch them they rarely are uncomfortable at hitting their target. But, keep in mind (i do this) sometimes ppl fuck around and shoot at walls or floors just to draw attention because campers r frustrating and you wanna try to lure them out just out of the want to finish the round. So, keep in mind also whats goin on you dont wanna blame anyone for cheating just cuz they r good. I try always to be sure that someones cheeting before i report them. Theres no reason to penalize someone because they play well.
Anyway another way to tell that someone is wallhacking (as with all cheaters) their score will probably be in the 30s or 40s (in most cases this is a cheater) when you watch them, they never miss, they always seem to know someones there, and they rarely die (their death tally will be extremely low compared to their very high score which even the best player on this server isnt that good on every map).
I am aware of others but because I have no experiences with them I will only state them I cant tell you how to notice them because I havnt seen any of these and anyone thats knows em first hand please state what you know to look for. Honestly I dont know what these hacks r even called so im not gonna give em names. Feel freee to tell what they r called if want. :flipoff:
Theres one hack Ive heard of that cause ppl to shoot you at angles they cause some kind of ricochet that will hit you bouncing off a wall.
There is apparently a hack that causes the player to be able to control where the bullet goes like a remote controlled missile.
Thats all ive heard of. Anyone know of others to watch out for cool let us know what to look for and how to tell its a cheater.
If you watch for the ones I showed you how to notice then and you feel confident its a cheater (not because he pwned you and then talked shit now... theres no penalties for skill haha) The vets know how to do crazy shit to record them and stuff, but I just get their game name, and if you look for it in psychostats you can get their steam ID and post that or just post the name in the game you saw. I dont suggest makin it like you must ban this person, just let them know, hey we all noticed this guy and he seems to be cheeting his name is !pwnedYErnewbz or w/e his name may be and we wanted you admin peeps to check it out its ruining gameplay yada yada.
They r cool here so they'll check the logs, see him cheetin and ban him from ever comin back. Dont let the hackers drive you away because they dont belong here, you do. This should not be a game just for hackers, because I know I enjoy it and I always wanted to play online before but just wouldnt because of the shitty hackers. So the more we catch the less there r I say. If you just cant play on the server because of the cheeter just let someone know on the forums, then goto another server til you see that person was banned.
Something that worked for us the other day was we all went into spectator and warned everyone thatd join that he was hacking and he left after about 10 minutes of that. Most the cheeters rnt able to deal with everyone hatin them so they'll leave. No one wants to play with themself haha.
Anyway good players, keep an eye out for these jerks and always let the admin know by comin here cuz they cant always be at the console, and if you want say something here and ill work at getting the admins attention. W/e just say something and it can be taken care of. Hope all that helps, and feel free to correct me on anything im dum about haha.
