I dunno, I like the whole idea of the server rotating players, but I hate the fact that each round I have to spend a good 5 minutes recruiting an entirely new squad.

No it's on the normal BF2 servers too. Is this from the new patch or a different server configuration?

dam im home for thanksgiving break i hop ewhen i return to school and start playing more bf2 that they have this issue fixed. Is this a bug or just something that we will live with for the rest of our bf2 career?

Yes the auto switching teams/new squads is so ANNOYING.

it MIGHT be interesting if it switched the ENTIRE team. as in you play one round then the teams remain the same, but they are switched sides. so the defending team is now the attacking.
unfortunatly there's no order to it.

team 1 and team 2 are allways the same, you just have to think what map your going to and what team you are on.
IE: ghost town, team 1 is spetznaz, team two is SAS
the chemical weapons plant, team 1 is speznaz team two is rebel
night flight, team one is Insurgent team two is SAS
SAS will allways be team 2, speznaz will allways be team one
rebel will be team two, insurgent will be team 1
just look at the team rosters for the maps, speznaz, insurgent, SEAL will be team 1, rebel SAS and MECSF will be team 2.
Hey at least you don't have your system reboot randomly during mass destruction each time.

Yeah it does get irratating after each round, if it kept the squads that would be cool, but I like it the way it was, sometimes I just like being on the US side and sometimes I like being on the other side but I don't like being switched by the computer. I doubt its the sever probably this stupid patch as every1 has said, I agree it needs to be fixed.

All servers are being affected, but b/c they did this to us on the thanksgiving holiday it is taking longer than usual to fix....sit tight.

You guys can thank the coder of the auto-admin functionality. They hardcoded this "feature" in the code. It used to be adjustable so we had it off. With the latest admin tool version that supports SF, the "feature" is on by default and we can't turn off.
To fix this requires someone to go into the code and edit out a line of code. However, since we have no access to the ranked server files, we can't do much other than make our provider aware, who in turn has to get the fix from the admin tool author.
We saw this "feature" within 2 maps when SF first came out. I have informed our provider of the problem and the solution. However, I think bc of the holidays, things are a bit slow in getting resolution.
Please endure this with us.

I like SF from when I played last night(first time), but team switching absolutely killed the fun of the game.
When I get going, and have the same squad for a few maps, the rounds became so much funner... don't you guys agree? You tend to become close with the guys, you understand them, you feel comfortable relying on them. Now, I don't even have time to build up a squad because it's pointless. As soon as I get a good squad going, we'd have like 10 minutes left to play then boom... start all over from scratch.
Honestly, what I think would be a great idea is if all the players switched teams each round but the squads stayed. In BF2, I... for some reason... refuse to play any team except USA. With that being said, I know all the ends and outs of the spawns and the best points to go with when starting. It'd be a very neat, and fun idea to go with keeping squads but rotating teams so that the players couldn't gain an advantage from understanding one side of the map so much. Keeping the same squads though would ease the toughness and keep the game fun.
I pray we get this fixed so I can enjoy the game more. I've only played SF since this 'bug' thingamajig has hit, but it took away so much from the game. I literally wanted to drop at the end of each round because I felt so uncomfortable being alone, I couldnt' communicate with anyone... and I'm not gonna sit around and type messages left and right. If we get this problem fixed, we'll be rocking this thing and having the same fun that we always do!
How long does it take to create a squad?
Just imagine what it would be like to come into the server, and not get to play with any of the new weapons for like 2 hours. The game just came out, this is fair for everybody.

I noticed it right off the bat .. but honestly .. It only takes afew secs to lock your squad and invite your squad before the round even starts. If the player is unavailable due to long connection on their end, well. the squad is locked and when they are ready Im sure theyll be asking. Yes it is a bit painful, but hardly the end of BF2.

Thanks for the update admin dudes... I think we all knew it wasn't something you all planned on doing :yaya: Figured that if it wasn't fixed by now it was some sort of EA/DICE screw up....as always... :jerkit:

I found another way to fix this problem and have communicated it to our provider. I believe the BF2 server is fixed. I'm trying to get them to work on SF server, but it is not going to happen today.
