There is a lot of good info on these forums. What I haven't seen after searching was a list of good squad compositions.

So here are some squad types i thought of. All experienced players chime in.

Anti Tank: The best way to kill a tank is with a tank.
Anti Tank x2, Engineer x2, Support, Medic
Everyone should be mounted. Main battle tank with .50 gunner x2, APC x2

Disruption: Behind enemy lines blowing up arty, comm, and UAV
Medic x3, Spec Ops, Support, Anti Tank(or second Sec Ops)
If mounted jeeps or APCs for mobility over firepower.

Heliocopter: A common one. In a transport copter.
Engineer x4, support, medic

Foot Sloggers/Anti Infantry:
Support x2, Medic x2, Assault x2

Sniper/Scout Squad:
Sniper x2, Medic x2
Place and Identify claymore perimeter. Once Identified move on to next obeservation for fear of arty and heavy tanks.

there's so many trash topics to dig through on this forum to find the one you want, but we've covered almost every topic related to BF2 here, but it's always fun to revisit a topic in light of further experience.
anyways, refer to this thread http://warishellgaming.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=5927
what we really need to do is TEST some squad combos and see if any are actually good. of course the easy cop-out answer is "there is no 'perfect' squad combo, because the battlefield changes on a constant basis and therefore the squad's composition should follow the ebb and flow of the battlefield and not be a rigid construct."
i say so what, why nay-say what we havent even tested?! just need some willing participants.
ooo and i've been thinking about this in terms of the expasion pack since some have special goodies. you'd need an assault and/or an AT for the grappling hook, a spec opps for the zip line, a support for the tear gas launcher and what ever else...anyone have thoughts on squad composition in terms of SF?
