How to get knife badge:

here's how to do it:

Get on a ranked 64 player map of Sharq Peninsula (so timer is long enough and real CQB map), choose sniper (hard for enemies to see you and long winded), and be on the MEC side. As the map starts, spawn at the north base and drive a vodnik to the hills north of the city entrance. AT's and snipers will be lined up on the walls in front of the entrance flag. Start cutting. Continue to use knife throughout the map and you will have your badge by the end. I got the veterans badge the first time I tried this, then EA locked up when I went to see if it had arrived. The next time I played the map I got it again. I played with the knife until I got ten kills and was second on the map. I had used only the knife up until that point. It can be done!!!

i actually got my badge yesterday if not two days ago.
i was the sniper class, duh, but i was on wake island. i was on china. i got a good break, but it's an easy one to replicate. i was in between the air field and the beach flags. i was on the southwest side of the rige hiding in the bush that has the downed WWII plane. some one ran up to me and proned so i knifed him. a second later a medic ran up the hill, proned on the dead body and slash, another knife kill. then ANOTHER medic came up and died in the same fashion. after that lucky streak i just stayed in between those two flags. sneaking on one the north side of the ridge to almost where the north spawn point for the beach flag is (the US had the beach flag) then turning back towards the airfield and slashing back after back. i ended up getting about 13 or 14 knife kills that round. :rockon:

Not to move up but you do need badges for special ranks like First Sergeant instead of Master sergeant, and for Sergeant Major instead of Master Gunnery Sergeant. The unlock are the same, but you get priority for squad leader and commander.

First sergeant: Basic Knife Combat Badge, Basic Pistol Combat Badge, Basic Assault Combat Badge, Basic Anti-tank Combat Badge, Basic Sniper Combat Badge, Basic Spec Ops Combat Badge, Basic Support Combat Badge, Basic Engineer Combat Badge, Basic Medic Combat Badge

Sergeant Major: Basic Armor Badge, Basic Transport Badge, Basic Helicopter Badge, Basic Aviator Badge, Basic Air Defense Badge, Basic Ground Defense Badge

Man, is there anywhere that explains all these badges and awards... and what the qualifications are and what not.

I'm running through these maps attempting to do what I THINK is a certain badge but I'm actually all wrong, or I'm attempting to get a badge that I apparently had gotten sometime back without noticeing.

IAR means "in a round"

After you have played 15 hours in this kit (check under stats in BFHQ) kill 20 guys (easiest if you use armor, helo, or jet)...badge is yours.

It´s even more easy to get the Veteran-badges of the different classes while being commander. You can get the requested kills with the artillery. I tried it, it works.

Are you sure? That seems a little easy, hide out in a certain kit, then just Artillery the crap out of people for badges. I mean, if it works... awesome.

the only problem is that I don't have the required kills with the engineer and AT to get the vet. so when I go flying I choose that kit, so I got some time playing with it

Just play 32 or 64 player Karkand... and then deathmatch with only the knife (as any kit) near the first flag in the alley ways. It took me like 3 minutes and 2 deaths to do it... then I went ahead and got my pistol badge for good measure.

You don't need explosives for First Sgt. Just all 7 basic kit (spec-ops to AT), then also the knife and pistol basics.

That's it, unless your me and you had all that stuff but because of the bug and possibly getting veteran pistol without getting basic first. Sgt. Major shouldn't be a problem because I got all those basics first.

Duh! :crazy: Silly me, I just looked into it and your right, I don't need the explosives badge. I got my knife badge right away today but I freaked when I found out I needed everything before my 20k points. I play commander quite a bit and having that extra rank is a nice thing for me.

Honestly i got my explosives badge from suicide bombing on Strike.. Lame yea but it's not to hard to get it this way so it's not like you'll be doing this all the time

Actually, I just reliezed this:
I got my silver engineer badge the other day as commander. Totaly forgot to post it as I read you could no longer do this sort of thing after the patch.
I didn't mean to, I usually play engineer when I command so I can fix my own assets if I need to rather than take other men off the field or spend my own supply crates.
Guess its just another bug EA said they fixed but never actually did.

Load a car with 3 packs of C4 and jump out of the moving vehicle 30 yards from target. Make sure the clicker is in hand....booya. This should make it easy.

heh i have yet to try this tactic to it's fullest extent against people players, but i was playing single player on SF the other day and i was just using my knife (the bots were on expert, but if you get within like 3 feet of them, they turn retarded). i found that when i ran around and tried to stab people when i was standing up, it was pretty difficult, but when i ran up to them and either crouched or proned and stabbed them, it was MUCH easier. i dont know if this is just my imaginiation, or it really was easier, but it may be one tactic all you knife fiends like me might want to give a whirl.
