No Spec op Expansion for me for now

I had to replace my glasses today :wallbash: and with the 2 kids being home all day next week on thanksgiving vaction,{ my 14 yr old son thinks he's a food vacume cleaner and she's {12 yr} almost as bad :nuts: } I will not be able to afford it till Dec. I don't understand why they are so skinny though, considering the amount they eat.

Personally I am not getting BF2:SF. I just am not interested in a infantry based expansion, or what I have seen so far. I hope they do a real expansion next time.

it's a "keep up with the Jones" thing. besides I'm a sucker. I will try almost any game, LOL, I have some real PC losers on the rack, cabalers off road adventure, Total adrenaline 3D dragracing to name a couple. and a bunch more bargin bin games, and I'm not menting the consoul ones :yaya:
I liked BF42 and BFV and the addons for BF42.
The one game I play alot still is Unreal, Not UT orn DM or CTF, but the orginal unreal in co-op, running Oldskool with the Ak coop mod.

i've worked at bestbuy for over a year as a side job during school and i know for a fact the discounts are company-wide, not location based... and the general rule of thumb, although not an exact science, is we get things for 5% over store cost.... which is why theres absolutely no discount on computers (store sells them for what they pay, makes the money on services and add-ons) and why cables/services/memory are such great discounts, because thats the bread and butter of the store.

software is not a money-maker, its a small margin made and thus a small discount... it'll take a few days, but when i work again on saturday i'll price come major titles like half-life2, BF2, FEAR, Q4 and such and see what the discount is, but when i bought WoW i paid $42, and its was $49.99 retail... same goes for xbox games, right about the same discount.

problem is i have the ability to check store cost of items :) and the computers are practically sold at cost... and the discount is 5% over cost, not price, big difference... example, a typical 6' USB cable is $28.99 retail, but store cost is like $1.75 and employee's pay about $2.50

discounts are huge on cable's for home theatre and computers, decent on computer peripherals and parts (video cards are decent, got my 6800GT OC for $300, when it retailed for $399.)

memory (digital camera and computer) gets pretty drastically discounted.

dvd's/cd's/games are mediocre at best, a few dollars off

computers and such arent too good... plasma's and lcd tv's are also decent, probably getting a 23" LCD HDTV for my bedroom that retails for $1199, it costs me $850.

dont base discounts on what you heard in the past, best buy changed their policy on discounts about 1.5 years ago, it used to be MUCH more drastic then it is now.

He said 5% over cost. That could end up being way more than 5% off, depending on the mark-up.

As far as the PCs are concerned, I don't see a business problem with selling at cost, especially if you mark all the other stuff up (like BB does) too much. :yuck:

Yes, discount is 5% added to the whole sale cost of the item. Sometimes leads to HUGE discounts, other times, we don't get much off. I was looking at getting a 60" LCD HD TV... and I get around $1000 off one or two. Not to shabby at all.

I was born in 1975, and it get worse too. My Dad and Uncle run a company that makes high performance intake manifold for hot rods. You have probably heard of Offenhauser if you like this sort of thing. Working on cars hasn't been my thing, I am really into motorcycles and airplanes. :nuts: Oh well, I'll probably hear it on this one.
