My final unlock

I made gunny last night and as I don't fore see me ever in my life time making the next rank up at 20,000, I am a old fart and I suck at BF2.
Now I suposse I need to choose between the anti-tankers unlock or the medic unlock, I only play enginer if I'm in a chopper for the map so I am not considering that unlock.
I have picked up the medic unlock before, but how in the world do you kill anyone with it? I use the weapons all on single shot and this one has me stumped, I had a person stand there about 50 feet away taunting me though a whole 30 rd clip and I never hit him, he shot twice me as I reloaded :jester: and yes I had the tip of that pointer right on his/her chest. and they did not even hop about once, just stood there LOL in the chat.
So I suposse I will go with the anti-tank unlock, even though I know somebody will run around a corner and 203 my arse point blank, Again! before I get a round off.

ah, good question. they both are pretty good, but i would go with the dao-12. it is great close in and not even bad at medium distance for a shotgun and its way better than most of the default guns. plus youve got a nice rocket to kill tanks

i reallylike the l85 also, but only because i really like it on semi-auto. is a good medium range sniper rifle actually. fun engagements with it on single shot. i havent had any problems with it,,,other than me sucking while i use it.
get the dao unless you play the medic class more

also i am in the same situation with points. since ive passed 20k global, i know i wont be reaching the 50k mark.

well I been trying to play as needed for the map, in city it's ether medic or anti-tank, depending if I'm in a squad or not and what the squad needs are.
I dislike the wimpy M16A2 for medics and it's burst shots, now the merc Ak on single I do good with. nice knock down like the G3.
In the counrty maps it's usally 50/40 anti-tanks/medic and G3 as needed to take out those snipers.

Having well over 65 hours being a medic, I can tell you that the L85A1 is a amazing weapon. Try doing burst fire, 2-3 bullets, no scope. The gun is amazingly accurate without the scope. Personally I only use the scope for extra long range shots, and even then, a burst of 2 bullets usually gives me the thesired headshot. The key to the L85 (IMO) is to learn its cooldown time. (or recoil)... It takes slightly a bit longer than you would think. Just play with it, and try to give the gun more time off between bursts.... (I know its hard)

Once you master that, you will see yourself becoming a beast with the L85

Something most people aparently don't know

Compare the 2nd medic to the first medic (strike karhand - 1 round each gun) you will relise they are very evenly matched and me ussualy using the medic kit actually finds the fist gun to be slightly more effective

And if you have *slightly* better success with the 2nd gun keep in mind unless it's a big differnce it's not worth using the unlock

Now try the 1st anti tank gun and you'll find it sucks then try the 2nd and you'll find it is amazing


Altho you can't test the unlocks a whole round on this server (unless you don't die). You will have to find a unranked server with unlocks already there


My solution: 1st medic gun does the job. 2nd antitank gun is amazing gun

Personally I find a world of difference between the basic medic (M16/AK*) and the unlock (L85A1)... maybe its just me, but I find the L85 way more accurate at close AND long range. But to each their own, good advice overall!

i look at my unlocks like this...

i have unlocked the g3, g36c, dao-12... the g-3 was my first choice but i should of gone with what i played the most at the time.. I dont usually play assualt as at that time i tended to play AT.. so i base it like this..

what kit do you like the play the most between the two.. look at your time with each kit and go with the one most played...

i did that after i got the g3.. i generally now only play with the g36 and the dao.. until i unlock my Ma-Bell gun...hehe

I play anti-tank and medic about evenly now. I switch back and forth on the map as needed, depending on the amour noobs :upyours: :yaya:

You have to use burst fire with the medic gun, which is suprisingly one of the more accurate weapons when you burst fire.

Two things, first, the L85 is a good weapon and practice makes perfect. Which brings me to the second point, that you should take the unlock of the kit you play the most. I disliked all the weapons at first when I had less than 10 hours. But over time you notice all the advantages and disadvantages of each unlock. This is still the best game of rock, paper, scissors ever.

PAC Bell used the same moto back in the day. Not sure how many Bells there are/were, but they got bought out I think in California.

I went with the 12 round shotgun thingy, and yup, a noober tuber got me as I rounded a corner in kirland, I swear he knew I was there because as soon as I saw him I was dead. they really need to change the way the 203 works, I was 1 foot away and I got splatered. it shouldn't arm till at lest 40 meters away. and the bitch of it was the guy lived though the back splash from his own 203 where as I died.

Yeah there are several threads on the "tube." Doesn't make sense that he knew you were there, otherwise he might have used the rifle w/ no splash damage.

Man this weapon sure takes a while to relaod. sheese, I fired off all 12 shells in a heart beat it seemed before I relized it.

Yes ammo goes by fast but those 12 shots have gotten me 5 kills before :yaya:

Most I have got is 6 kills on one cylinder. Nothing like surprising a squad leader and his spawnees near a flag. :yaya:
