Chapter Two of Guild Wars will be out in 1st Half 2006. (This was announced at E3 in May.)

There will be no subscription fees associated with the new chapter; once you purchase the game it is yours to play without additional fees.

Alternatives may be offered in some regions of the world, to accommodate such things as gaming cafe play, but there will always be an option to purchase and play without a subscription fee.

The new chapter will be entirely optional, and you will be able to continue with Guild Wars Chapter 1 without purchasing Chapter 2.

The contents of Chapter 2 have not yet been announced, but you can count on a bunch of new content of all kinds.

OK

Apparently the Second Chapter will focus on indoor enviroments(i.e. Dungeons, Catacombs etc.).

Kewl

A major focus of Chapter Two is making guilds matter more in the game, and creating alliances of guilds who can work together to accomplish large-scale game objectives.

This is what excites me the most

New regions that offer new missions, new monsters, new items, new quests, new skills, and new professions.

Quests: Obviously
Skills: expected
Professions: Hope they give us a couple new slots, as I am not deleting my hard worked characters :wallbash:

The Frog has stated in one of his previous visits to Lions Arch that the dev's are going to allow you to have "more family members" in Chapter 2, or even sooner. There's only so many things that means.

I think it is pretty definite that the new character class is going to be some type of assassin :yaya:

Thought so. But I disagree with the Druid being the next profession, since the Ranger in this game already has many traits of a druid. He has Druid armor for one, and spirits he can summon. So he's already very druish. But, you never know.

Why would they make an assassin class when they already have rogues...?

they don't have rogues in GW yet.

warrior, monk, ranger, elementalist, mesmer, necromancer

NEW: assassin

Damn, I'm such a dumbass... I thought this was a WoW thread for some reason.

I personally think they should give you enough slots to do a character of each primary class. We have 6 classes right now and only 4 slots.... stupid. If they add two classes, they better add 4 slots.

Assassin... cool, but nothing new.... kinda boring, IMO.

Although the ranger has kind of morphed together the druid and the amazon, and trap assassin from D2, they still haven't completely fixed the pet aspect of this yet. You should be able to command a pet to attack before you strike a target. I think you should be able to see your pet's stats and the training of them should be a little less cryptic. Anyway...

The other char type? They have no shapeshifter like in D2, they have no class that can wield 2 weapons at once -- should be warrior ability. There are so many things they did right in D2 and they watered down here... so sad.

What about a knight/paladin? I suppose the Warriors are kind of that but not... Paladin is like a Warrior/monk thing.... hmm.. I am intruiged.

Are there character classes in WoW they have that are completely different than anything in GW?

druid-ranger
paladin-warrior/monk
warrior-warrior
priest-monk
rogue-assassin now
shaman-elementalist
mage-elementalist
warlock-???
hunter-ranger

i'm probably missing classes, but thats the main ones i think.

Assassin/Rogue/Theif only makes sense as the next profession. Don't know what you are talking about Mad, how can you say it is boring when you don't know what is in store for the profession? They have most bases covered already due to secondary professions.

Even with Everquests massive class list most can be covered:

* Bard - Nothing really
* Beastlord - Ranger/Warrior (however watered down)
* Berserker - Nothing really. Would be Assassin/Warrior
* Cleric - Monk/War
* Druid - Ranger/Monk
* Enchanter - Mesmer
* Magician - Elementalist/Necro
* Monk - Nothing really (monk is melee damage in EQ)
* Necromancer - Necro/Mesmer
* Paladin - Warrior/Monk
* Ranger - Ranger
* Rogue - Nothing
* Shadowknight - Warrior/Necro
* Shaman - Monk/Elementalist
* Warrior - Warrior
* Wizard - Elementalist

Sure they could come up with something completely out of the blue and unique, but it would just be something already in the game or some other class from a different game with a unique name to mask it. They have a debuffer, healer, DD spell caster, DoT spell caster, melee damage tank, ranged melee, and any combination of them. May as well go Assassin.

Well, I know read, that they are going to introduce 2 new characters, one being the Assassin, and the Buzz is a Druid, because all the boneheads are thinking D2... I am so looking forwars to this!
