i've been having issues ever since 4.8... I have to uninstall my card through device manager after every reboot then have the system look for new hardware. then, and only then do the ati drivers load properly.

still, i love my 9800pro.

Ive used the omega drivers in the past but I had problems with the system freezing, so I think I'll stick with the ati drivers unless i hear of someone else who had that problem that doesnt now.

Did you uninstall the drivers and dashboard (add and remove programs)and delete the ATI file on the C drive then reboot before you installed the new drivers?
They can not be installed over each other

Prowler the Omega drivers will work with your 7200 M something to think about :)

The omega drivers were unstable for me.. freezing, as APOC stated, and other issues occured.

i dl the omega drivers and tried to install them....they seemed to install fine, however, after my reboot xp would not boot under "current" configuration....so i had to rever back to "previouslly good" configuration.....any ideas anyone?

yeah, i've gone and scrub'd my system clean of all ati files... tiptoed through the registry and system32 folder too. can't figure out whats wrong.

I let windoz setup the card (found new hardware wiz)after I uninstall everything then install the drivers seems to keep windoz happy :dunno:

i have another question, in half-life 2 and with the hosties in css, it seems my graphics card is not rendering any color in the eyes (which is really creepy, seeing g-man with just white eyeballs) and i think it has to do with an error message i get in the console whenever i play, its something like "unkknown shader occlusion proxy" or something like that, then it gets more technical.

any idea on how to fix that?

i know i had a shading problem in doom3 where the monster all looked really blocky due to bad lighting and shading, but i fixed it somehow with a console command or a tweak. So it must be fixable, any info would be appreciated, thanks

Anyone else had problems with these new drivers? As in slow downs, stuttering and wierd smoke issues in CSS?

Yeah i reverted back to 5.1 omega and CSS and Warhammer 40k: DOW now run great (with 5.2, DOW was stuttering like crazy)

I havent played DOW in forever. I used to always play that game till i got my new computer with CS:S. Maybe when i install it we should play sometime :D

lol. Ive had it for about a year now. I got pretty good with the chaos but then the speed rushes started to piss me off so i had to switch to space marines. Now, its probably even worse with all the new strats people have figured out. Ill play with you sometime when you get it :D

But yeah how's the campaign? Can I play a campaign for each race? That's what I'm mainly buying the game for.

Nah, campaign sucks. You can only play as space marines for 12 missions and only space marines. Its pretty damn easy too :|
