I was curious if the Forgotten Hope mod will be supported by the WiH community. I'm not sure what the interest level is in WWII mods/games.

Should be fun though, wherever it is hosted. :D

the 42 version is awesome! I am sure the BF2 version will be even better, and even if we don't have a server to play on, there are others that we can all go to :D

I loved the '42 version. Sooooo much better than the original. This mod is the only reason I have Battlefield 1942 still installed. The downloads were huge, but worth the wait.
I can't wait for FH2.

I'm not really sure what Bit-Torrent or .7 means?

.7 is the newest release of FH which happens tomorrow.
Bit-Torrent is a program that allows you to get your download from anyone on the internet. You get bits and pieces from more than one user, as long as they have their program up. It searches for someone online that has a part that you need, and gets the piece for you automatically. The more users online with bits you need, the faster the download.
Since its a big download, they release this early so you can get the program over a couple of days instead of one big swallow.
I don't like it, but it was interesting to see how big this download will be.
Understand now?

There are alot of great mods that I am highly anticipating for BF2, this being one of them... unfortunately WiH cant host all of them :wallbash: but like Drayu said, we can find servers to play on:
Forgotten Hope
Eve of Destruction
Point of Existence
MECH Warriors(not sure anymore about this one)
Desert Conflict(I think that is what it is called)
and more...

I understand what you mean now. Second question, is this for FH2 or FH1942?

Big fan of the FH mod. Pretty much all I played the last couple of years. While I prefer the WWII era shooters, I'll play BF2 until FH2 comes out. As good as FH42 looks, I've been spoiled by BF2 - graphics, rag-doll physics etc. BF42 was a great game, just a little long in the tooth now.

I'm pretty stoked to start getting into these mods. Of all the games I've played, BF2 has had the best base mod to start with. I can't wait to see all the different directions this game takes. Of course I didn't play BF1942, so I don't know how that all turned out, but I've heard good stuff about all the modding.

forgotten hope, i think is the best ww2 mod made. they are extremely detail oriented and i have high expectations with what they will be able to do with bf2.
if you havent played forgotten hope and want to check something out a bit different, you should definately download it and check it out.
is a different pace and an intelligently made mod.
im ready for more bf2 maps.

I just thought I would dig up this old thread and ask if there is any new excitement for Forgotten Hope 2? After looking at the thread for POE2, I just wanted to make sure we didn't forget about the WWII mods.
It's taking to long to complete these projects, I am tempted to install BF1942 and get my fix.

They usually post an update every week at their site, but nothing lately.
Don't worry, I am watching for this one.

Will be the number one mod for me! Left BF2 for a few months after .7 came out, but I'm back now, lol.
I'm sure POE2 will be my second favorite. :)

yeah, dont worry. there is more buzz about poe because of its direct support by this community. but fh2 will be great.
nothing like the smell of flamethrowing tanks in the morning sirrr
wolfgaming community is dedicated to fh and they have great servers and good people. i will be there most likely. certainly will post best fh2 servers here when fh2 releases (with wihadmins permission)

Who knows what will happen to the community in the future. Certainly WiH will support and play POE2, but maybe hundreds of new members will sign up donate huge amounts of money and demand a FH2 server. :D
Hey, I can always dream... :abduct:

yes, after fh2 releases and people check it out....maybe we could actually get enough people to pledge and actually donate. anyway offy, we can start a grassroots movement. maybe have an fh2aid concert...
fh2 and WiH would be the absolute best. yeah, dreaming :hehehe:

I wouldn't say it's just a dream. The owners probably consider many factors in determining which servers to run. My guess is it really will come down to supply and demand.

This happened to me when I started playing SF. I would be running down an ally and find a guy fiddling with grappling hook or something and blow them away.

Like most mods, they don't have release dates because this work is done in their spare time, so the amount of work done isn't like if this was their job.
I wouldn't expect FH or any of the big mods (EoD, FH, POE) to release before June.

actually a really good mod is nations at war large maps with lots of tanks and planes. (only downside ist theres like 10 people on the servers)
