Yeah.. hostyle.. you rock. One thing I don't get is how people can actually hit enemy planes so seemingly easily. I can't seem to get it down... cause as soon as I lock on, they turn sharply and dodge all of them. What's the secret?

Don't use missiles in dogfights.... ever. Thats the only secret to downing other planes. Thanks guys, its taken ALOT of practice. Ninja, you're right I use a joystick.

I know his secret. He keeps a pair of Tom Cruise lookin aviator sunglasses on his desk and he has a special switch rigged to his joystick, so as soon as he gets in a jet, Kenny Loggins starts blasting through the speakers.

Oddly enough, this would most likely work, seeing as to dodge a missle you just have to hit your afterburners and pull up.

Anyway, so if you don't use the missles then how much do you lead with the guns? and WHY don't you like to use the missles (other than the team vehicle damage...)

I don't really lead with the guns, I just try to hang behind them for a few seconds, let them get comfortable and lax so that they'll fly straight and level, then I let loose.

I lead quite a bit with the cannons, especially in a turn or a climb. Yes, I don't use missiles mainly because they are worthless and add to an already tough job of keeping tk's down while in a jet. I will use them every now and then when the enemy is on a straight flight path. (re-arming or bombing run) However, I don't chase them around with the missiles armed, I switch from bombing mode to missiles only after I've closed the gap and feel I have complete suprise. Then switch over, fire off 1 or 2 quick missiles and switch back.

Besides, I'm back to work now. My skills will suffer. It took ALOT of practice to be decent in a plane, and I don't beleive I ever broke the top 100. Or even the top 150 overall players. This was when I was UNEMPLOYED. I can't imagine how much the top 50 play.

I fly with a keyboard and mouse and can put the hurt down on the choppers. As for downing fighters, how about never. Especially Hostyle...

I normaly only use bombs to try and nail them when they are still grounded and just starting to take off. Very rarely have I downed someone with them In flight.

Thats what the main cannon Is for.
