Should I start playing BF2 again? I stopped because it gave me headaches from unorganization and so much going on at once... How is it now a days?

At times, depending who's on and who you team up with, it can be pretty well organized. But if you're lonewolfing it in the middle of the action it's chaos for sure.

Depends who's on..........

If you find yourself on a losing squad, check to see which squads are actually getting points and join that one. IF it's full, try and "recruit" from the best players......regardless of whether they are in a squad.

Bottom line, 1 or 2 squads can win a map. IF they have commander support, and are well organized.
