give it a while, in the typical valve fashion the game is buggy as rat fuck.

and don't get me started on the lag.

Takes a few rounds to get used to.

The recoil is a MF.

So far I give it :thumbsup: :thumbsup: :thumbsup: out of 5. But, I only played it for a few hours.

Once people started working in teams it helped.

It is Beautiful and the sound is AWESOME!

I did not vote because my choice is to not buy it until I hear that the choppy lag poop is gone. I don;t want to purchase a game if I am unsure that the bugs are going to be fixed. Although, after the recent CS:S fiasco, I'm not sure if i want to see Valve "fix" this one either.

I'm liking it so far. I haven't encountered any really bad lag yet. I went 15-3 on the map Avalanche with just the Sniper. A lot more excitement to the games than with CS. You have bazookas and nades going off everywhere, plus MG fire always ripping someone apart.

The lag that I saw were about 10 seconds at the beginning of a new round on same map. Then the lag goes away for me. I didn't see this lag at the beginning of a new map, only when a new round starts on the same map.

I turned off HDR and set Shadows to Low. Then I was pretty smooth the rest of the nite. My specs

P4 2.6GHz
1GB RAM
9800 Pro 128MB

obviously for me the lag was bad. the beginning of a new round was horrible, but i did hear a lot of ppl complaining about lag throughout a round. now i know i turned off the lighting and all that, and it worked good for me (aside from my stupid connection).

Some people also had good luck with using DX 8.1 instead of DX 9.

Also, make sure your rate settings matches our server's settings.

If you cant afford 20 bucks then :yuck: ... :hehehe: I will end up buying it, just am waiting for a week or two, and you KNOW you are going to buy it. and that is actually great advice, drink 8 beers, I guarantee you will buy it :jester: Why not trade in some old crappy games, that is what I plan to do, and games I never play anymore...

But on topic I right now think the game is worth the 20$. The lag issue will hopefully get fixed in the next week or so. Once that is taken care and the sticky bodies crap, I will probably be spending most of my time on Dod.
