Reading a lot of message forums I see a lot of drOOids and SHAmans think there so uber vs. the priest class. I think there insecure and full of themselves. Anyhow, Ive been lucky enough that I havnt had to shake aggro alot yet. I guess I just have been lucky enough to group with a confident warrior and cunning rogue alot. However.......when it is absolutely nessecary for the puller to pull 3 or 4 I usually get 1 mob on me at some point. The situation is usually let the tank get beat up for a bit, cast renew, cast flash heal ( he isnt hurt that much) then one of the mobs will rush me, i will power word shield, wait a couple of seconds, then cast renew on me as the shield is falling. It seems to be working out pretty well but was just wondering what all the other priests do. If you use fade tell me why because right now I kind of think it sucks.

I use Fade religiously. Fade basically subtracts from your threat count for X number of seconds. Whether or not it works depends on how much aggro you've managed to generate. If you're Shielding someone else, Renewing them, AND Flash healing them in combat then odds are Fade might not help you.

If you have to drop some emergency heals and it just barely tipped you over the aggro threshhold to get a mobs attention then Fade is a great tool to use and it has saved me MANY times.

You've gotta use some strategy with it though, renew early and don't start using Flash heals until they are below 30% health. There is no reason to keep everyone above 75% health unless you're fighting a mob which has the ability to take away tons of health in a single shot. To my knowledge you won't encounter many of them.

Oh yeah, and casting Shield on yourself works well in conjunction with Fade to drop aggro. From what I've seen the mobs will often stop attacking you if they can't hit you.

Last bit, make sure you USE Inner Fire!

Ive noticed this also. Like I said though, Im not getting much aggro yet, I think that will change soon as it gets tougher or if I happen to group with a dumb tank.
