Ive seen folks in the guildwars argueing lately. It goes back a few weeks. Let me jsut say, from my perspective, its just dumb to argue the things your argueing over. I go back to my origanal stand that the way a person plays is more important than anything. This stands for all MMORG's. Ive been involved in World of Warcraft for a couple of weeks now. Christina and I have 2 people on our friends list. 1 a warrior, another a rogue. We've completed two instances with these people and trust them completely. It took a week of solid grouping to realize that we wanted to start a guild and build a core of players around us four that hold the same ideals as we do. Screw our cape ( tabard in WOW) screw our guild name, we just dont care about that....its trivial to succesfully being succesful.
In guild Wars dont worry so much about what your guild name is or what cape you have on your back. No Korean team is going to bow down to you for how cool your name is or whatever the heck is on your back, its all about how cohesive you work as a team. We finished Shadowfang Keep in WOW with 4 people, all level 27 and lower. People that are in the know will tell you thats great teamwork, and thats why we like to fight together. Concentrate on your great accomplishments as a team and you will find happiness.

I find great merit in what you're saying. I whole heartedly agree that the team, not the individual should be the highest priority in Guild play. I personally think that every post I have ever made about Guild Wars has emphasized that.
As for the cape, name, etc. Although it doesn't hold as much bearing on the game play, i don't believe it is trivial. When you've ascended four chars and got so bored you deleted on to start over you get to a point where you do something dumb like go out and buy a full set of 15K armor? Why, because when you're in the tweaking stage of the game. Looks start to matter. You want your char to look cool, because there is no other goal left other than GvG or PvP. Which BTW, EVERY attempt to organize somthing like this with the community here has failed.
As for the name, I think it matters a little. If it doesn't I want you to be the leader of the new guild and it will be called, "I am stupid and like it in the pooper". I want you to start recruiting in GW as soon as possible.
Hopefully this sarcasm offends no one and merely illustrates my point that NO ONE would want this name because it is dumb!!
It matters.[/i]

You know.... Diecard and I were talking about how it would be nice if everyone was in the same clan/guild. He even suggested I start a guild and invite Madscout, Prowler, Blood and others. this way we can all be in the same guild and we can tell who is who by our tags and capes. I told him that I had enough of being a clan leader and putting up with everyone's crying about the clan "not doing anything together" This is usually the same people that don't show up for events.
I guess what I'm saying is. Yes it would be nice if we had everyone in the same guild. Because after all if I'm in a guild and two people asked me for help at the same time. one a guild member and the other one not. I'd have to help the guild member 1st.
On the other hand I really don't like PvP. (GvG or what ever) I didn't like it in any other game (AC, AC2, SWG, KO and so on) Because there was always a penalty for dieing. (lose more XP, lose items, lose cash....) And there was always the people that have no life and play 50 hours a week and have all the super duper equipment that have no skill butbecause they have the best equipment that there is no way to beat them.
This being said I hope that this can get straightened out because I'd like to see us all get along.
Oh and as for the capes.... Why Black? everyone has a black cape.
sorry if this is all jumbled I'm at work and have to type this up in between doing real work.

As far as I know, both WOW and guild wars have no death penalty. Outside of a run of shame.
