Well last night myself (27 priest), Chris (27 mage), Hatryd (27 Warrior friend), and a 25 pickup rogue burned through Shadowfang only to have our asses handed to us by Arugul. "Now you see the light!" ....... this made me mad because that was our first time in Shadowfang and not one person died the whole way through. Let it be noted though that there were a few situations where I could see full groups of five wiping and we probably should have but that Hatryd guy is just so damn good. Not to mention Christina is a $$ CC'er. Although I strongly believe that WoW is the greatest MMorg even without the instances , instances sure our icing on the cake. Ive done two now and the music, atmosphere, their design is just so much fun I feel guilty playing them.
more notes-- I did some CC work last night too. Shackle Undead is the coolest animation Ive seen yet. I love it because its not like a "root" spell where they arnt going anywhere but if your close they'll attack you. Once they are shackled, they arnt doing shit for 30 seconds. :) I nailed the named undead paladin with it and that certainly made that room easier.
Any tips on Arugul? We heard once he starts turning people into werewolves the mage should sheep players, but he hit us so hard so fast it was over in like 15 seconds.....

Yes, Arugal can be hard. I remember one time when my group got through the whole way without dying like you did, and then when we go to Arugal we were screwed over by the game itself. At the part where Arugal teleports up to the ledge he would start evade bugging, and since we couldn't hit him (but he could hit us) he just went back to full health. Pretty lame. We had him down to like an eigth of his health too.

Oh that is so money!! I totally forgot about dispel magic. How dumb of me considering I used it relentlessly in Wailing Caverns when ever somone got put to sleep.

Bring a shaman & have the shaman use his tremor totem & grounding totem (if they have it at that lvl).

Im not too big on pointing out which classes can do what with me. As long as I have a tank I dont care who else comes.

I'd just like to gloat because I killed Arugal like 8 times I think and I have his belt and his robes and the feline mantle from the boss before him ahahaha. We had a rogue, warlock, mage (myself), shaman (or warrior), and a priest (or druid) for all this runs.

Oh, I want his robes, so nice. There's also 2 really nice staffs that drop in SFK that I'm going to try and get.

My guild who is mostly in it's mid 30's at the moment does SFK runs a few times a week. The lower cloth wearers tend to get great gear and the rest of the stuff is prime for disenchanting for materials. Good stuff. Over the last couple of weeks I've managed to get:
Witching Stave (http://thottbot.com/?i=9069)
Feline Mantle (http://thottbot.com/?i=5155)
Robes of Arugal (http://thottbot.com/?i=3457)
Not bad gear to have for a level 26... woot. Also, those robes look great, a dark grey with white trim all over it. Goes good with my tabard.
For strategy on Arugal I sat on the ledge as you walk in and stayed within healing range of my group mates the whole time. We have our mage remove curse (I don't think dispel magic works on that werewolf curse, but I could be wrong... its not a very long curse anyway really shouldn't effect the fight much). We put the mage over on the ledge to the right and have him nuke from there. Had everyone else just chase him around when he teleports and pray that he doesn't evade bug on you, which seems to be very frequent (50/50 in my experience. Once he bugs he's impossible to beat and you might as well try to run or just die and come back and try it again. He seems to evade bug most when he backs further into the corner that he starts at... I haven't seem him bug anywhere else after he teleports. Also, if you're a lower level healer make sure you have a mana pot on you because it seems to me that shadow bolt seems to do about 300 damage a hit.
Also, I've heard the cook downstairs in the kitchen drops a really good item. Not sure what it is though.
Hope the strat helps, although its pretty vanilla.

That witching stave is supposed to be a pretty rare drop.
I'm hoping to get
Arugal's robes
Arugal's belt
Feline Mantle
Witching Stave and/or Odo's Ley Staff
