Admin Complains

It's strange reading all of these complains about the WiH admins. I don't know if some of you who have done these complains been to other server other then WiH. I've been playing CS since Beta 4. I've been on server where the Admins would straight abuse the hell out of the players. Because, they could.

This is one of the better ran servers. Most of the admins are rather relaxed, with the exception of a few. However, none of the admins, that I've seen, will kick or ban you if you kill them. I have had this happen to me on other servers.

Everyone is going to have some kind of problem with an admin regardless of who they are. Hell, I've had problems with some of the admins in the past. I just don't let it get to me. They are players like us, trying to have fun instead of having to police the rules. They don't do anything disruptive. They don't constantly harass players and slay them each round, etc.

This just might be one of the better servers that I've played on during my time. I don't agree with all the rules, but I'll still follow them.

Just remember this when you complain and want to go to another server that might have admins that are about 50x times worst then you can ever imagine.

My admins are people like everyone else. Like you said, they all rather play and have fun instead of having to deal with people cursing, yelling at each other, and watching for hacks, Tk'ers, etc... Each of them have good days and bad days. Some days, they will be strict on the rules, and some days they are more relaxed. But good day or bad day, they have 1 thing in mind, and that is to ensure that the players have a good time playing without having to worry about hacks, team flashing, tk'ing, etc... For every idiot that you guys complained about to the admins, there were about 3 others that were quietly banned/kicked behind the scene that you didn't know about. That's what they do. That's their job. And they work for free b/c they want a good playing experience too.

Thank you for you regulars for playing on our server and following our rules! Thank you to the admins who tirelessly give up playing time to for the rest of us!

I was not going to say anything but since this thread is open i would like to post a reply......

I am so sick of seeing people complain about Redy.....
Redy is consistent in his actions if you break the rules he will kick you
if you continue to break the rules he will ban you
if in his opinion you mock or disrespect him or any other admin you will be gone permanently.
If you have a misunderstanding he is willing to discuss and reverse a ban.

I do not know what anyone could expect him to do differently? Be nicer to you? are you joking? his job is to police the server. THE OWNERS OF THE SERVER DETERMINED THAT HE IS AN ADMIN END OF STORY

So enough already complaining about admins on this server, play somewhere else if you cannot coexist on this server

I think another thing that people need to realize is that the Server Owners have listened to the people regarding:

a) Removing the AWP and the Auto-Sniper (which I didn't agree with, but I'm the minority.)

b) Starting an 24/7 server / Custom Map Server / FF-On Server.

c) Started a server for us in CAL to use for a period of time.

d) Made Dust pistols only until the patch.

They have done what they can do to create an enjoyable experience. Not to mention pretty damn fast at remove those hackers that we hate. ( :upyours: to Cheaters)

I don't think I've ever had a problem or seen an admin do anything that I didn't think was necessary. Vryllyn is right, this server is run much better than most other ones. When I got this a month ago, I floated around from server to server until I stumbled upon this one. I've pretty much played here ever since then.

So umm... keep up the good work admins ^^

Completely agree with Evol...I have been playing since 2000 and have never found a server I really liked to play on constatnly. I used to just bounce around from server to server based on map. Admins do a great job, and I have never seen anything unwaranted or uncalled for. If people can't respect that, then they should find somewhere else to play anyway. Keep up the good work to all WiH admins!!!!!!

ps I am glad to finally have a home vs bouncin around to play the best game ever invented.

This is one of the first servers I stumbled on 3 months ago too. It quickly became the last server Id ever play on.

Lol I agree also with all of you guys. But seeing how the present situation at hand his holding me down I think it might be time to finally beat hl2. I got my hands on this game a day earlier then most. Lucky most of the CPU and console game hubs are all in Louisville, Ky. However the hl2 game was not up and running it told me I had to wait for the server to come up before I could play. Well since I couldn't play hl2 I said what the hell lets give cs a try. Let me tell you nothing worse then buying a game and not being allowed to play it. Anyways I got to maybe the 4 th lvl on hl2 and never put down the CS.S till now. LOL It has been a pleasure playing with you guys if I don't get the chance again.

Not to long ago I was in trouble with the admins, but sense then I have grown a new respect for them, they really do their job, and do it well, I just hope that the admins and I can build a friendly relationship.

i really didnt realize the difficulty with it all until i heard the actual frustration in their voices on TS, besides, phyx and redy are just amazing at the game :thumbsup:

I can only say one thing. With freedom comes the need for discipline. The second of which is a very rare commodity these days. Kudos to the entire admin team for keeping the server users in check. We as player realise how hard it must be, and I wish to personaly thank you all. Especially Redy who takes a load of crap from practically every other arrogant smart ass for his strong words and even stronger actions.

I have a very big problem with the admins and it's about time I brought it up since I am no longer an admin. It's pretty simple guys..

I'm in NO way saying that you shouldn't be, but you guys do pay for the server and deal with the emotional grief that it can cause during CS time.
Which can be a lot. I know, I've admined a few servers in my time and a lot of the things that happen can really eat at you, even when you're offline.

It's a double edged blade I guess. If you are too harsh, people will leave and the server will lose players along with get a bad rep. If you are too nice, people will think they can get away with everything, etc.

However, not that I have thought about it, it seems that since you are all adults (25+) you are able to find the middle ground and stick with it.
Anyway, just know that I am still around if you need me (or my money, cause I am rich :P) and even if I don't play much these days, when I do play, I only play on WiH and would drop money down in a heartbeat to keep this community alive.

While I was an admin here I was treated with nothing but respect from the other admins and players. Especially crotch, redy and groovy. I also loved being on TS with them and BS'ing about the game.

Anyway, I'll stop reflecting on memories passed...
Keep up the good work people and remember, I'm coming back soon.

I would like to thank all that posted in this thread in praise of WiH admins.. :thumbsup:
Being an admin on a CS server isnt easy and we dont get alot of "Thanx".. we would rather play then have to watch a player or even warn, kick, or ban players.. It sucks for us when we have to take the time to do these things.
This is a very thankless job and we appreciate the kind words of thanks written in this post.. :thumbsup:

We've come along way in the 4 months or so that this server has been up. I'm pleased to say that we have a good group of regulars who have made War is Hell their home.

The Admins are doing an excellent job keeping this server up to par with our high standards, but this is only part of the equation. The remainder is attributed to the excellent players we have here. It's you guys that make War is Hell what it is.

BTW, since some people are still complaining of Admin abuse. Let me tell you a story about my first and only ban.

2001 - Some of my co-workers told me about a CS server. I became a regular after a period of time. In my first week, I was playing on Aztec as a T. First round, I threw a HE grenade at the double doors and timed the throw so the grenade would explode at head level (yes, you used to be able to get grenade headshots.) Killed an Admin. Second round, Same situation, killed the same admin again with an HE headshot. Third round, I throw a grenade again and no kill. Realize that he finally wised to the nade to the head. Rush the double door and I watch my teammate get killed by a Carbine to my right. The CT goes to hide behind a box to reload and I started firing at him before I got around the box. Next thing, I know, Banned from Server.

So, I do whatever anyone does. I go to the forums for the server. I do the normal, I've been banned post. The admin who banned me, turned out to be a 14-15 year old, who was pissed off because I killed him for 3 straight rounds. He came on a posted that I was using a wall-hack and a grenade hack (which doesn't exist). Later, I got a PM from one of the main admins, telling me it was a 24-hour ban and not to worry about the ban. Made a comment about me being good.

Shortly after that, the admin was no longer an admin for the server.

Now, I've never seen that here. Or an admin get mad due to a death that he kills the so called player every round with the slay command, until he leaves.

So, those of you complaining about Admin Abuse. :upyours:

This server is great. I go out on other servers every once in a while and they are full of abusive admins and hackers. The admins here are nothing but helpful and they keep the hackers out of here as best they can. You gus are great and I really do appreciate the job you are doing. :rockon: Now I have just one request of everyone out here "Please stop killing me :hehehe: ". Seriously though keep up the good work.
