The L85 or the G3???

Now before we start down the road of other classes...let me state that these are the "only" unlocks I'm considering. I don't play any other class enough to make it worth it.

I already have the G36C as Spec Ops is my most played class and I love it. However I'm leaning toward medic more now since I started playing on WIH. So the L85 is looking pretty good.

But when I swipe a G3 off someone I killed it just seems like the right thing in my hands...but I don't know if that is just because both the G3 and the G36 use iron sights and the L85 uses a scope and I'm not used to it...

Both are quality unlocks imo. I have the L8 and love it. I use the g3 everytime I can loot it from a corpse and am leaning towards it or the g36 with my next unlock.

Guess it comes down to what you will use more often. If you do indeed go medic more lately, the L8 is a terrific choice as it replaces the horrid 3 shot burst USMC weapon.

you've actually killed people :dunno: :hehehe: I love the L8, but I also like being a medic. As I know you like to squad up alot... I would go with something more squad oriented... and I like the G3 myself, it also seems there are alot more medics out there lately. I love the L8 and how it works, but I also like the G3, I think I personally would go with the G3, as there are so many people out there with the L8, it is easy to loot 1, but that is my opinion.

i would go with the g3 since the standard medic weapon is not horrible and as others have said you can always loot the L85 from a corpse mostly because they tend to run into the line of fire trying to revive people

I have both and the L85 is the better choice, just from the standpoint of not picking up others' kits. I usually play as assault and only use the G3 when playing US Marines because of the three round burst. The twenty round box is limiting, as was said above, I find myself changing magazines at the wrong moment. :wallbash:

Its true that the L85 is lying everywhere, especially city maps. It has a scope, but takes a little getting used to, just above the tip please. It can be used as sniper or medium distance. It is NOT a CQB weapon. You will lose everytime. The G3 is great up close, but only so-so at distance. I get 1-3 rounds into someone and they are down up close from the G3.

You lose the n00b tube when you use the G3 however. If this is key to your style, I am not insinuating here or anything :hehehe: , think about that as well.

It really depends on your style of play.

I have the L85A1. It is a waste when being the MEC or Chinese since I perfer their stock assualt rifles, but when you're an American it's a must. On the G3 side, it will be my next unlock. It's very powerful and accurate. So, you have to ask yourself this: Will I miss the gernade launcher? Do I play as an American Medic a lot?

Yeah... i agree with that... I have played the demo with all unlocks open just to test out which ones I liked best.. and the g3 wasn't really one of them.
first of all.. you lose your grenade launcher when you are using it... sometimes regular grenades are nice, but the noob tube is what makes the assault kit so deadly. The g3 seems like you have to reload every 5 seconds.. and that really turned me off to it when I was trying it out. The damage it deals is ok.. but at medium/long ranges, the spread seems too large for my tastes.
I've unlocked the L85, and I love that gun. It's more accurate than the sniper rifle XD. It takes a few hits to get someone from long range, and when they're moving around a lot, it can be tough.. but at medium/short ranges, I can pwn with that gun. I have no idea what you're talking about with the close quarters combat... I just don't zoom in when people are that close, and evade their shots by being unpredictable. Also.. if they rush you head on.. drop a nade and back up.... that'll teach them to play footsie with you :P

I cant stand the fact that when you use the scope to fire at someone, the point can be on someones center mass, I can be crouched, and using single shots, and I miss right and left. Whats up with that, and its certainly not my aiming, you can see the "cross hair" laying right on them, and the rounds are hitting to the left and the right.

BINGO!!! This is the same problem I've always had the L85. It's just not as accurate as the stock special ops weapon on single shot.

Haha, then they need to have the sight jumping around everywhere. Because unless your scope is not zeroed in, theres no reason for it to do that.

Best thing to do if your not sure which weapon you want is to see what kit between the 2 your using the most. Another factor would be to consider the clip size and damage.

To avoid any unnecessary thinking if you like both kits the same thing it really depends on what type of gunner you are.

If your the :sniper: gunner then you might want to stick with the G3 since the damage on the gun is extremely high and you can snipe people from afar and probably kill them with 3 well placed shots sometimes 2. You might want to consider the accuracy you have on your assault rifle by checking your stats. Remember that small clip of 20 is a liability.

If your the :mp5: gunner then you might want to use the L85. Its damage is about the same as the M16 and its accuracy is about the same as well. Although you can use the sniping method to pick enemies from afar the lack of power might get you killed more often if you try to outsnipe a sniper.

All in all L85 is less damage and about the same accuracy as the G3 but bigger clip. G3 is a lot more damage, same accuracy, but extremely small clip. The G3 will get you killed a lot in maps like strike of karak or whatever that map is called due to CQB situations.

P.S. I got the L85 as my first unlock and really didn't like it all that much but its a nice weapon to have as USMC medic. The AKs still beat the L85.

The sniper weapon is pretty powerful, just isn't fast enough. I have taken out many snipers head on with the special ops and medic guns in single shot mode.

I love my L85A1. I created a new character with my clan tag, unlocked the Spec Ops gun and didn't like it because of the iron sights, and because I missed the L85A1 I'd unlocked with my previous guy, so I made a THIRD guy to get my uber Medic gun back. :)

I like the sniping, and I like the full-auto in close quarters. the USMC M16 with its 3-shot burst got me killed too many times when the enemy was in my face (which happens a lot if you're a good medic).

Thank you to everyone who has posted...I'm going to go with the G3...since I'm not a noobtoob user and only play assualt on the city maps where I need the armor ... I also shoot like this :sniper: so G3 to match my G36C
