I know WiH doesn't do customs, but I was thinking we could do a trial run.. maybe.. There are three maps that I find are absolutely quality maps. Top of the line. I think everyone should check them out.
1) De_clan_mill_beta - This map is quality. It's an official CAL map, and is just down right GOOD. There are no custom textures, so no nasty purple and black checkerboards. It's EVEN. We are talking dead even. It can go either way. It's got 5 places to go. Long A, Short A, Long B, Short B, Middle, and Tunnel's. (Ok maybe 5, but I was disincluding tunnels.) This is a bomb planting map. It's fairly straight forward. And good tactics will win it.
My rating for Clan Mill:
8.5/10. The only thing holding it back from a 10/10 is the small space. However since WiH only has 25 slots, and rarely is ever full, it would be no problem.
2) De_Contra - Another absolutely quality map. There are so many ways to get to each bombsite I don't even know where to begin. (Maybe like 6 or 8 ways) Leaving LOTS of variety, and strategic minds to think, and plan. There are two texture files for this map, which arn't a big issue. I.e. the signs to say where to goto B, and A. This is only a problem if the server doesn't have the textures in the right place for people to Download. Yet another bomb map.
My rating for Contra:
9/10. The abudance of places to go and large map size make this a perfect map for public play.
3) De_Losttemple. - This map looks like it took some thought. And by that I mean, it rocks. These guys did an absolutely great job doing this map. I can't remember if there are texture files, but from what I remember.. yes. How many? I don't know, but a small small amount. This map has many different ways to go. And this is another bomb map.
My rating for losttemple:
10/10. That's right, a perfect 10. This map has clear lanes, but without being too open. It has valves "circle" flow to it, where it is not straight on, i.e. you can get behind the enemy, but not without ease. By circle I mean, think of Dust 2. You can go from T spawn to long A back through the underpass to B. That's how I mean circle flow.
If you doubt any of these maps. CHECK THEM OUT IMMEDIATELY. These are the kind of customs that belong in valves collection. And on any server.
I say we do a test period with one or.. all three of these maps added, then get peoples input (maybe a weekend trial run)
If no one likes them, then remove them and no harm was done.
