I 'll stick with the Sapphire ATI Radeon X800 XT Platinum Edition Video Card I just ordered :P
Sixteen 'Xtreme pixel pipelines, and 256MB of 'Xtreme GDDR3 memory operating at a frequency north of 1GHz

Ouch nothing....No need to pray for me, the x800 XT Platinum hangs right there and out does the 6800 ULTRA in most cases in benches, plus it does not consume as much power as the 6800 and runs cooler :P

"When ATI first introduced the Radeon X800 XT line, overall price and performance levels had buyers favoring the NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT and Ultra cards. The Sapphire Radeon X800 XT 256-MB is an excellent piece of enthusiast hardware, and with the latest Catalyst 4.12 drivers, its performance no longer takes a back seat to anything in its class. The retail price is still a bit higher than its NVIDIA counterpart, but within its own ATI segment, Sapphire is unmatched in terms of price and availability."

Actually I am very informed... I visit video card message boards many times a day and am pretty up to date with my knowledge of stuff... and I know ATI sucks ;).

Well Monos... that is just the 5x00 series of cards... their DX9 support isn't very good. But I assure you the 6x00 series rules anything ATI can do.

Have fun with SM2.0 Monkey... I will be here with my 3.0 ;).

LOL SM3.0 is a eeeeee relevant issue hell its not even wide spread implemented yet (new far cry patch but who the hell cares about far cry?)and when it does go wide spread in the next 15 to 20 months it will be time for a new card any way LOL
Bottom line ATI OWNS in real world gaming
Silly Salem

Irrelevant to you.... because ATI doesn't support it yet. ATI tries to say 3.0 is useless and blah blah blah... yet they will support it in the next generation of cards... but yeah... so useless. And more games than you know are going to support SM3.0. And to tell you the truth... I would rather be able to use it NOW... then wait for a crappy ATI card to support it... and doesn't support it well.

X800 XT and 6800 Ultra are both top notch performers. The 6800 is sort of better, but that's only because of SLI, and who wants to buy two gfx cards?

I believe that the X800 has the WR's in 3DM01, 03, and 05 for single gfx card benches, so whatever that's worth to you...

Either way, you're getting a fast card

I just ran the stress test so I could see my average. I got 131 with a 9800 pro. I can think of three reasons why mine might have been higher.

1. CPU
2. Ram
3. Graphics settings.

I am not sure about the third one. Does anyone know if the stress test has standard settings that it always runs at? Or, does it run at the settings that you currently have set?
