I'm confused to how VAC2 works.. Shouldn't it catch these guys straight away? Or does it just permanently ban their account nfrom ever playing CS:S again if they're banned from secure servers?

He's beaten VAC2, this guy was in t-spawn in Aztec before we moved.

I know I'm not involved, but Kemiks asked a good question I felt should be answered here.

He asked if VAC detects and bans promptly for the use of hacks. The answer to that question is: No.

Chances are, he hasn't beaten VAC at all. The way it operates is when it detects a client using a cheat, it flags that client's steam ID and (some believe) log's the information.

A week or two later he gets banned for the offense. Permanently.

This is also to confuse cheat devs as to what exactly gets their hacks detected. Some have wallhacks that bypass vac, but have norecoil scripts that are picked up -- cheat users switch'em up every now and then. So when they get banned, they can't report exactly which cheat toggle got them banned on cheating community forums.

no i'm serious, there are documented accounts of people with banned steam ID still able to access and play on VAC2 secured servers.

and that is elaborating not correcting.

I run a server myself. And I noticed a HUGE decline in the amount of hacking going on. VAC2 is not completely useless ... really it isn't.
