Ok.. I just got my first kick/20 min ban for tk'ing.. and seeing as how everyone makes posts to complain about such things, I figure I'll join in on the bandwagon of dumbass bashing :D.
So... here's how it happened. I was playing on the server for multitudes of time, and playing as engy for a bit, spec ops for a bit.. and other classes as well over the various maps. Of course, it's inevitable that one must amass great amounts of tk's while playing as engineer especially.. because of the widespread belief that the red skull on one's screen means that there's buried treasure at that spot, which one must dig up by using their vehicle tires. So, of course after people have been treasure hunting for a while, I end up with a bunch of tk's and of course a bunch of good 'ol fashioned punishing. After they find out that there's no buried treasure, they get mad at whoever put the skull marker there, and blame them for their current lack of treasure. Then, as spec ops, a few C4 charges and a couple more dumbasses is a great formula for tk's and punishing. Add in a few misfired shots here and there, (apoligising for them each multiple times of course), and you have yourself a pretty big pile of tk's. Apparently in most BF2 players' vocabulary, the word "sorry" means 'fuck off you', and a number of other rude remarks primarily involving the victim's mother. After getting a bunch of tk's on accident, and being unrightfully punished, I was sitting on a hair thin line before I would get kicked. Well.. what pushed me over the limit was also due to a bunch of dumbasses. These particular dumbasses have been described in the encyclopedia of idiocy as jet whores. And I'm not talking just one, but six or seven, all fighting for the same bomber at once. I was in a 3 person squad that was effectively using the attack helicopters on other maps, but the map we had changed to was Operation Clean Sweep, so we decided to use the bomber. After a couple of attempts of getting 2 of us in, we finally succeeded, at which point the rest of the aforementioned dumbasses thought it was a good time to play ghandi, and sit in front of our plane. This left us with only a few choices, all of which would result in a load of tk's and punishes. So, I decided that the best way to teach them to go help out their team instead of hindering it would be to fire one of the secondary missiles as a warning shot. However, of course someone had to be standing directly in front of the missile trajectory. So, I end up hitting one, and killing all of them with the splash damage. Then, the dumbasses punished me for killing them in such an unexpected way. And so here I am, typing out this post, awaiting the moment that I can rejoin the server, and hopefully tell the dumbasses that they are dumbasses.

blame the commander, he gave a "search area for buried treasure" order

As I have been informed after my rants is that you can hit the left ALT key and turn off the skull and crossbones  . I agree that people don't need to punish you for that but they do  , so you just need to get used to it. Look at my Tk count :say_oops: I can thank landmines and AA vehicles for that, I do not play engineer :frown: that much anymore but I still use the hell outta AA's and that won't change (nothing like taking out a full WHOREHAWK :P ).

If everyone punished you that means you TK'd 6 people. odds are 1/2 of them didn't punish, so you probably TK'd about 12 people. Of all of those TK's, you made sure to note that they were all dumbasses, no dount they were. But you don't think the 1 that did the 12 TK's might be rubbing elbows with those people down the trail to the dumbass club house? a couple TK's can totally happen even from the least dumbass in the world, but when you start getting into the double digit TK-ing, maybe there is something you are over looking. After the 1st 1 or 2 TK's with mines you didn't think........."HMMMMM MAYYYYYYYBE I shouldn't do that anymore........"
When you were in the plane waiting to take off and you thought "Sure I can skill fully guild this total uncontrollable missle through a group of teammates, and even if it does hit them, they will NEVER punish me" you should have thought "MAYYYYYYYYYBE I shouldn't fire a missle into a crowd of our own people..........."
Just wondering of all th4e dumbasses you listed in your post, did you forget one more??

LOL Dinky, no kidding. Of all the month's of playing I don't have a single ban that I recall. Hours and hours of playing a day without a ban even with all the tards being anal means that it shouldn't be THAT hard to avoid it.

I'm like needle. I play for hours and never even get kicked. I try my very hardest to stay away from those dumbasses.

hehe XD.. I admit the shooting the missile at them was a bit stupid.. and I knew I'd probably get kicked for it.. but it was worth it :yaya:
And it wasn't like I was putting mines in random places, It was on the strike at karkand where I did most of my mining, and I put them right where the US team's vehicles would be coming from. They were all in plain sight, so you could pretty much see them without the red skulls there, but those without their 3d map on thought they were buttons that you need to press to get infinite health. And I know it was six or seven that I tk'ed with the missile, because I counted that many kills on the HUD. I also saw six punishes.. so either I killed 7 and 6 punished, or I killed 6 and they all punished.
I do admit that I can be a dumbass sometimes too.. but I don't punish people for mine kills (rare because I look for them), and I also don't force people to tk me just so I can punish. I'll usually forgive tk's unless I know they did it on purpose (ie, someone throws C4 on a vehicle they want, and then detonate it on whoever gets in before them).
Also, I wasn't making this post to complain, it was merely for the comedic value that I implanted into it :jester:

I would say 85% of the people online automatically punish.

At this point I dont care anymore, sometimes you need to do things to defend yourself and not worry about un-aware teammates running all over your defensive points.

Example: With claymors last night, I decided to start using them again, I was deep in enemy terrority sniping, and covering my arse with claymores. About 25% of the time a teammate would trigger the claymore, oh well their lost and mine, i expect to the lose the 4 points.

Its funny I tried to warn people to look out, did no good, finally i said a few times 'I have a claymore on EVERY LADDER ON THE MAP'. Surprisingly after that sarcastic remark, I didn't TK anyone else.

heh... I should do that too sometime XD. Just tell everyone that there's claymores randomly scattered about the entire map. Then we can all pretend that they're easter eggs and see who can get the most
You found one... now your face and body have many steel balls implanted in them.. SURPRISE!

normally when I'm booted for tk'ing it's usually my one accident that slips against an admin on my team. I haven't really noticed much more than a 2nd chance. I understand accidents happen, and it's just a game so I try to be forgiving whenever possible.

I remember one time getting booted for killing someone in a clan over and over (enemy). He asked why every one of his deaths were by me, and then I was ejected. If he thought I was doing well b/c of cheating then I'll take it as a compliment. :D

Lol, I had a close call myself.

I was sittin' there shooting barrels with my pistol and nothing happened. (Mind ya, I was just bein' gay and testing spray patterns)

Anyway, I popped out my AK and unloaded on it just as GroovyDude and some other poor soul walked by and all three of us were blown to smithereens.

This is how I justify my punishing rules.

If I have played with you more than a couple times I'll not punish you.
If I don't know you, screw you.

I know most of the Regs and have played with most alot so no worries from me guys (unless I accidentally hit the wrong button :wallbash: which I apologise for on TS).

I've been punished to death by morons so I now punish no matter what unless I know you, but sometimes I go by WIH name recognition from the forums.

Now you know my rules and remember if I TK you its ALWAYS by accident.

Have fun and hope to see you on.

I'm not sure which server you were on, but I can assure that my admins don't kick unless they felt that you intentionally tk'd them. In addition, we don't kick players for being good.

I have the same problem Coran, I hit the punich button by accident a LOT because it is not within the range of my normal keystrokes. So, here and now I say "SORRY!!!!" if I punish a friend it was not intentional :(
