So I havent played CS at all today. Slept all day and was going to play it all night..I log onto steam and it does some update on the steam login..not even an update on the game but the platform for steam itself..and yet when I went to connect to warishell i get...

It happened to me once. Just wait, it should work again. Try rebooting too.

I tried rebooting..still does it. Won't let me on WiH. I went to the little supprot thing at the website but its just like if this occurs after an update its probally your firewall blah blah. i checked my firewall its not my firewall. i dunno.

I can connect to non-vac secure servers but i cant connect to vac servers. this is such complete and utter crap. i have tried rebooting I have tried looking up forums on google for people who have similiar problems and all I have gotten out of each and every one of them is just restart the game or your computer and i have tried that and it didnt work. :upyours: UP YOURS VALVE!!!!! Vac 2 :sniper:

Yeah, this was all over rthe steam forums -- it should be fixed by now.

Try restarting steam and getting back on.

Okay. I tried starting steam and playing again after we all got off guild wars..same error.

Tried rebooting and starting..same error.

Tried deleting the clientregistry.blob and starting it again..same error.

I can get on non-secure servers but any servers that are vac secured I cant get on. its irritating me..

Can anyone say vac is working? lol jk, hmm theres alwasy the uninstall and reinstall of HL2.

Hmm, check your VAC standing under Steam->Settings in case someone stole/duplicated your Steam_ID and used it to cheat. I'll poke around and see if anything else comes up.

Edit: It's been confirmed that a lot of people are having this problem, if that's of any comfort. Looks like you'll have to wait for Valve to update their update. :thumbsdown:

The steam platform updated again this morning.Hopefully that means they have fixed the problem.

I got that update last night before my post and it still didnt work. also my vac thing says 'in good standing'. i dont know where my disc is because my mother likes to come in my room and print out tons of stuff and smoke and clutter the desk with papers and move my shit on me so i cant very well reinstall the game right now..this is pissing me off. ive never had any problems with steam till that update. freaking vac2.

you can reinstall without the disc. just download the steam installer and run that, after uninstalling the steam you have on your computer already. you can just log in then and check off whatever games you already paid for and then it will download them. it might take a while, but it looks like you don't have any other options left.

no disc means i dont know where my cd key is. its with the disc in the half life two case..and where would i download the steam installer etc? and wouldnt i need my cd key if i reinstalled.

nope, as long as you remeber your account name and password you don't need the cd key. the key is just for registering your copy of the game to your steam account. all you have to do is go to www.steampowered.com and click on the "get steam now" link.

thats how i was able to install CS: S and Half Life 2 on this laptop after my dad took my cd's away :jester:

we should make it now, eventually we will have a large membership that we can get membership fees from to plan our schemes of diabolical schematic plans.

i got all the way up to second place and now ive dropped a ton cause i havent played in like a week. FORK YOU VALVE!! FORK YOU RIGHT UP THE BUTT!

Yeah, bloodmaster's right -- ya can just delete everything and download it back from www.steampowered.com Just as he said, your cd-key is registered to your account name. If you can remember your account name and password, you'll have full access to everything that cd-key entitles you to.

Didn't realize this has been goin' on long for ya, I'll see what I can dig up too
