The user scores speak for themselves. This is what happens when you screw with your fanbase.

...I don't really know what people were expecting from MW3. Did they really expect a campaign mode that exists as anything but an oversized tutorial for the multiplayer?

CoD IS multiplayer. That's been the defining constant of the series since forever ago, and EVERYONE KNOWS IT. Had they tried to change that, people would be screaming bloody murder.

The shooting mechanics are the same?? ...Really? It's a gun, people - point the loud end at the other dude, look through the sights, pull the trigger. Any other approach to firing the bloody thing tends to be called suicide.

The vast majority of people want CoD, as it is. They gave them CoD, as it is. Did these people somehow not realize that??

What did they do? I thought all they did was make another boring game that might be worth a single player run through.

I'm probably in the minority, but I know I would have been fine with BF3 having a Bad Company-like single player. At least it would have been unique.

I played black ops during the free weekend on steam a couple months or so ago and I thought it was very mediocre. The commercials for this looked exactly the same. For the longest time I felt as though I had missed out by not playing the COD franchise because even people who I didn't take to be "hardcore" gamers got way into it, but now I know I was happier playing Counter Strike, Battlefield 2, Team Fortress 2, and Day of Defeat.

SP seemed ok so far...I played 20 mins then tried MP....found out no dedicated servers....still played ...for 5 minutes then went to BF 3

Honestly it felt like it was MWF 2 mappack....no new graphics nothing. And to think I got this for free and it still didn't get my attention much.

Oh and...lol 6v6

You have to turn on the option to look for servers, Grim.

Well that doesn't seem to help much playing a dedicated....unlocks are based on the server itself....kind of shitty IMO

I guess this settles that then - looks like Skyrim this weekend for me.

I did buy Black Ops. I really did enjoy the single player story. There are very few games based in the Cold War that I can think of so it was a nice change from WW2 games. I also liked the conspiracy stuff in it. Multiplayer was alright.. Fun but it never really wowed me and I never liked being knifed in the face by a guy I'm shooting (and hitting).

Mw3 will be a rental to check out the single player story. I'd like to say it's because I want to find out what happened to Soap and 'Lemmy'. However, I really couldnt tell you anything about the story in MW2. Some general got stabbed in the face and a Burger King was under attack at one point. :dunno: That's about all I got from it.

I really dont think I need to bother with multiplayer in MW3 since THEY USED THE SAME MAPS FROM MW.

Check out the video after 57sec. Look familar?

I can't ID the 1st map but the 2nd one? :bs:

**Skyrim looks awesome Jimmy.

recycling assets isn't anything new in terms of games, so that's non-news really(bf3 has some recycled buildings)

it's just something doesn't click right for me since MW2, the maps never really changed much, they were "localized" to the theme, but other then that it was really a heavy single player game with a decent multiplayer added onto it, now it's a multiplayer game like quake was, without the strong story single player they had originally.

Using old buildings with different facade isn't new and I don't really fault them for doing that since they are recycling the game itself so why not recycle stuff in it. The texture is pretty and they look nice but without destructible environment it seems just "eh". Battlefield raised the bar in that sense.

The map looks the same. That 1st map is the either Crash or Downpour from CoD4 with new objects to make it look different. The 2nd map is definitely Pipeline or at least it looks like it.

I do wish BF3 had Mod Tools because I would think that Downpour or Pipeline if made into BF3 maps would actually be rather cool Team Deathmatch maps. Adding destructible buildings and BF3 weapons and a couple of Light Vehicles and you would have a lot of fun there.

If you follow the COD line they do this a lot I think that this is the main reason some kids like the game but for me the main reason I hate COD I simply do not like the game play nor the maps.
