Nutcracker

Ok, been playing here long enough so I might as well introduce myself. I apologize if I get a little long winded. Here we go:
Nickname: Nutcracker
Origin: My first nickname (used to be called a ‘Handle’ back in the day) that I used on local BBS’s and then on this new fangled “internet” thingie that the kids are calling it these days. I first logged in way back in 1994. When I think that some of you reading this may have still been pooping in your little footie-pajamas at that time, it makes me feel old. Damn old. And I turn 30 in 3 weeks. Pass the Geritol.
Why Nutcracker? Well, I was quite the ball-buster back in the day. Ball Buster. Nut Cracker. Get it? Good. Now we can move on!
Where are you from? I grew up in Central Falls, RI. A few fun facts about Central Falls, and Rhode Island:
You can drive through the entire state in less than an hour.
At the time I was living there, Central Falls was the second most densely populated city in the country next to Miami. While being only 1.2 square miles in area we packed in over 35,000 people. Plus countless people that weren’t, well, counted due to the large influx of illegal immigrants in the area.
I’m now living in a much different environment in Frankenmuth, Michigan by way of Minneapolis. Long story, I’ll spare you all the details. Big Octoberfest festival coming up next months though, you're all invited: www.frankenmuth.org
What do I do for a living? I’m currently working as a Programmer/Analyst for a small health care organization in Flint, MI. You know all those run down buildings you see in Michael Moore documentaries? I get to drive by those every day. Yes I know how lucky I am, you don’t have to tell me…
Which game brought me to WiH? Easy one! Counter-Strike. Call me crazy, but there’s just something to getting shot in the head repeatedly that keeps coming back. I’ve also gone through more keyboards in the last 5 months of playing CS than the rest of my geek-life combined. I keep telling myself it's not the keyboard's fault, but by then it's usually too late...
Other games: I’m a football-a-holic. I own an X-box for the sole purpose of playing Madden/NFL 2K5 games. On the PC I play most FPS’s, with the occasionaly RTS thrown in FGM (for good measure). Acronyms! Woohoo!
Other fun/interesting facts: Well, let’s see. I’m a sports junkie with an unhealthy devotion to all things Red Sox/Patriots. And yes, the last two years have been heaven. J
Um, I speak with what many consider to be a “Boston” accent (I grew up about 45 mins south of Boston). If you’re unfamiliar, it’s a genetic disease that prevents you from pronouncing the letter ‘r’, instead substituting an “ah” sound. So “car” becomes “cah”, “park” becomes “pahk”, etc. Having lived in the mdwest for the last few years I’ve recovered somewhat, but after a few beers (or ‘beahs’) it becomes quite noticeable.
That’s about it. I don’t speak a whole lot while playing mostly because of the “no swearing” policy. By my estimates if my mic was on I’d have been kicked approximately 4, 243 times in the last 5 months or so. I'll hop on team speak one of these days. :)
I’ve certainly enjoyed playing here on WiH these last few months. You guys all seem like good people. Thanks for having me!
