Don't know how many of you may have seen this on the WOT forums already, but the WOT crew showed a brand new teaser video at Gamescom, and IT. IS. AWESOME.

Damned shame the game doesn't actually play like that, but after watching this, I don't really care.

Turn this up to 1080p, hit fullscreen, turn up the sound, and enjoy.

If anything, I would really like to see turrets pop off of the tanks. :(

Excellent video GearaDoga

No. That video is pretty misleading. None of that is actual in game footage.

You know as much as you guys rave about this game, would it even be worth it for a newbie to join in at this time? It's not like any new player would be able to play with you guys right? Since you guys would be on more advanced tiers.

Plus I wouldn't buy anything extra so I would have to make due with only what is given to a non-payer player.

Well, you COULD still platoon with us in our main tanks, regardless... Don't really fancy a Loltraktor's chances lumped in with the likes of the King Tiger, IS-4 and T-30, though.

Most of us still maintain a stable of mid to lower tier tanks, and when you're fighting at a level where your ammo costs $1000 per shell, tossing down $13,000 or so to randomly buy a tier 2 tank to join you with is definitely not a problem.

The beauty of the F2P approach is that the only things not available to free players are gold ammo and gold consumables, neither of which is actually used in normal games except just for the hell of it. All of the normal tanks, ammo and equipment are buyable with standard credits.

kilroy, this is my take.

when you start out you start out with 1930's era tanks and low crews. as you play for months you improve crews and get new tanks.. which follow the chronological time line of tank development/the war.

so when you start out, you will be gaming with all the other tanks in those tiers. so as long as you enjoy tanking for tanking sake, definately download and start playing.

if your only goal in playing is to get the best and baddest, and you dont enjoy the idea of gaming across the development of tanks, then dont bother.

i have around 45 tanks ranging from tier 1 to tier 9. i prefer the middle tiers the most and love running my lights (tier 1 - 4). they all have a place on the battlefield.

the only hiccup with starting late is wih'rs are working on a specific tier 8 tank or whatever and you cannot really play with them.

but folks like me and others will play low tiers with you in platoon if you catch me in ts.

i would say try it at least. because the next two games -planes and boats is going to use very same money and exp system. so might as well learn all of that on this game so you can make informed decisions in the upcoming games.

You're insane man!!!

I don't know how the rest of the people play, but when I play along with my =HR= brothers, we take turn choosing a tank and then everyone matches that Tier. We almost always rotate thru all the Tiers so we don't just play 1 or 2 tiers. Most of the time, people who are grinding will grind by themselves bc it's faster to flip into/out-of games when you're by yourself.

Kilroy, if you wan to play with the big boys, spend some $ to buy the Lowe. That's what I did just so I have a heavy tank to play with the other WiH guys. The rest of my fleet consist of Tier 1-7, all lights and mediums. I don't take the Lowe out too much though, I run mostly T5-T7 mediums. Those tiers produce the most fun and profit for me.

Lowe is a great money tank, but didn't they raise the price to like $50 for it?

Yeah. Still probably worth it if you're gonna get seriously hardcore and don't want to spend days farming credits at tier 5, but now well over the "eh, why not?" threshold for most players.

We can only speculate on how much the mighty Sturmtiger (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sturmtiger) will cost when it finally makes its debut... (and yes, that gun really IS as big as it appears - 380mm!)

I'm pretty sure it is Drayu. The T95 was in that as well, wasnt it?
